Hello, I am interested in creating mods for my friends, (and possibly anyone who wants them), but I come across the same problem... I don't know how to properly mod. Easy solution, watch/read some of the modding tutorials right? ... right? Hence why I'm here. I'm asking experienced or inexperienced modders to make in-depth tutorials on how to mod. Anything will do, guns, swords, races, even two handed weapons. (Especially with alternate abilities!) Don't get me wrong, there are tutorials, but the good ones I can find are basic things like patches and tools, (Which I have no problems with.) If anyone could help me, I would be very grateful. I would even accept templates of the things I wish to mod, (like double handed spinning spears of doom.) Before some one suggests using random generated weapon files, those always end up in fatal error fails. Also I am a self teacher, I normally can figure my way through things, however, when I don't know whats going on, I end up trapped in an endless maze.
Edited to clarify I don't want an all inclusive tutorial.

I am like 99% self taught. You just have to experiment and reverse engineer thing. Things like weapons can be easily derived from existing examples.

If you have specific issues, the forums can help with answered. But an all inclusive tutorial... Don't hold your breath.

Well thanks anyway, I'll try reverse engineering another file. Also I do have a basic grasp on lua, but c++ is my forte. Any suggestions on which file to start reverse engineering?

There are several version of active item weapons under the "tiered" folder in their respective sections. Melee or ranged.
