I made an attempt to make the font more readable... here are my results!

I hung back for a few days to try and see the joke here, turns out there wasn't one....this is a thing.

The way I see it, if I can read the original then I really have no issues of readability with the font. So leave it, change it, not fussed

Of the original two examples posted, I do find the second to be easier to read. Occasionally when lines of text are crammed rather close together I can accidentally jump from one to the next partway through a line while reading it, adding a little more space between the lines (and making the lines taller themselves, extra pixel of height) helps keep them distinct from each other.

Part of it might be because it's white-on-black, though. Stylistically, that's okay, but I would not want to read a whole essay written in white text on a dark backdrop. :p

Personally I don't think the font needs to be pixelated. I rate readability over stylization. But if we require a font that's still thematically similar to current one, but a bit more smoothed, here's my try at smoothing out the existing font:

The one above is nice. :) You still get that pixel-feel but it's nice and smooth to read and easy on the eyes.

I would prefer the strongly pixelated text to be only in places where it can be short. For example, item names, planet names, anything names. When there is a need for a longer description, I'd prefer a text with better readability, like the bottom one.

Like the Diablo 3 example earlier in this thread, I agree. :)

This is very good. The titles should probably be in pixelated text and everything else in yours.

It does match, but if you have to read it for hours, it will strain your eyes.

Sorry to post in an old thread, but now that the beta is out I think this discussion can be worthwhile again. As I posted in the modding section, the game font is a normal .ttf file that can be replaced with any other. Unfortunately, the replacement font needs to be of very specific size and proportions to fit well into the game boxes, and not many system fonts do that.

Is there anyone good with creating/editing .ttf files that could improve the original to match the pics in this discussion?
