I just want to say, on behalf of all the decent people on Steam, that...

I'M SO SORRY DEVS THAT PEOPLE ON THE FORUMS are such a bunch of ungrateful, mean-spirited jerks, I think you're game is great, and am grateful to get to play it! Even if it wasn't I just wouldn't play it, what is with these people???? Like playing fifteen bucks gives them a right to judge the whole universe!?!

It kind of does. I don't like the way most of them provide their feedback in a mean-spirited way
but a good amount of it could still be constructive.

 

My only problem are the vast number of tin-foil hat kiddies on the steam forums. So many "cash grab", "bought an island", "Illuminati associated" comments based on pure nonsense xD.

 

It's cool. All four of you decent folk on Steam forums are more than welcome to come here!

I think that Steam Forums are susceptible to the same thing that Reddit forums are, namely bandwagoning. Don't like something? Downvote it! Ask your friends to downvote it! Boom! Never see that review again! Created something hateful and wrong? Throw in a joke, ask your buddies to upvote it, and other people may be mildly amused for a split-second, and that is enough for them to click "Helpful"...

There's good information there, and the reviews contain good stuff sometimes, but it takes a ton of time to sort through the garbage to find the constructive feedback. At least from my very brief forays there.

Huh. I should visit that place. I always found the starbound steam forums kinda funny. Hard to approach sometimes, though. Like.. you just look at the posts and you rub the back of your head thinking "i should come back here later". Then a month passes. Hehe.

 

It's a bunch of people raging for the blood of the developer teams because they don't have billions of updates...

 

Yeah. But like it was mentioned in another post, the hate there can be hilarious. People overreact so much that it seems nearly impossible to believe that those people are serious.
But, blegh. I'm more around for the people than the discussions. There are okay people there like anywhere else.

 

I'm sure the devs appreciate the thought, but unfortunately I don't see this thread going anywhere too productive.
