I understand that, AND I appreciate that armorpen is gone. Bird AI however? Ugh. i'd like to choke whoever wrote that code.

 

and it is ENTIRELY designed that way, they knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they made it that way, and its just annoying. I can see the prick having a good ol' laugh when that decision was made.

 

I love how I get a warning from the mods when trying to defend what the devs are bringing to the game but the OP can straight up call the devs children and it seemingly goes unchecked. Not to mention some of the other flat out rude posts directly targeting the devs("I'd like to CHOKE whoever wrote that code"- rly?) I also believe I saw one that said 'Tiy and co. worked 19 hours straight and for what?!' That to me sounds pretty ungrateful and shortsighted but maybe I'm crazy and need reprimanding.

Or maybe a game this popular shouldn't be in open beta as the masses that such a game attracts aren't responsible enough to participate in a beta because many people including the OP seem not to realize what a beta actually is. I happily took part in the Risk of Rain beta and everyone was civil for the most part even though there was difference in opinion and the game was very successful. Why is this game different?

Birds will be fixed tonight. Tiy took a big risk revamping the game as hard as he did right at beta release, but it's something that needed to be done. Now they're just scrambling to clean up the mess that came with it. We have been getting patches every night since it happened.

 

Congrats! You figured out there were bugs in this patch! People on these forums are so ignorant.

Ah, I see. Actually, I can understand that. The new changes were pushed out very rapidly: Something like 24 hours between the last two patches? The starbound developers are responding VERY rapidly to our feedback, and they continue to push out new content and changes, like the bird AI. While that's nice in theory, they have very little chance to test their patches, resulting in some annoying problems. Actually, I think the development will start to go a lot smoother once the updates are less frequent: With more time for bugtesting, the game will be much more playable between patches. Right now, it can be hard to enjoy the game when every two days there's a new patch that includes at least one massive game-breaking bug.

They're doing a lot of experimenting and messing around with new changes, without thinking a lot about the overall playability of each patch. I'll confess, I haven't been playing much lately: I'm waiting for a few more patches, to put the game in a state that's much less stressful to play. I hope that within the next few weeks, we both get what we want from the updates!

 

Are you really going under assumptions that the devs plotted to make people like you rage? The people for god sakes worked 19 fking hours in a row to improve, and implement new things, follow by balancing WITHOUT TESTING IT (which is stated on their fking FAQ AND twitter). You honestly are being really ignorant, and if you actually read your resources, you wouldn't be btching as much as you are.

read that, now shut your trap -- and actually provide GOOD criticism, cause to me, it looks like you're btching because you're having a hard in the BETA which ALSO the FAQ tell you if you get this mad, don't play the game until phase 2. So, again, leave constructive criticism, and stop dropping the IQ of the forums. ty.
