But seriously, before you flame, or your eyes go red defending whoever put it together.. hear--read me out!


~A logical person says wow. The tier one crafted weapons are WAY too strong. (80-100dps) We should address that with a nerf while still allowing it to be an upgrade over the item you start the game with! (12-20dps.)

~A two year old decides that we will make the items as good, or WORSE than the starter weapon. /Golfclap.

~A logical person decides that some armor is too strong, and decides to make it "less effective."

~A two year old decides that armor is pointless, and makes you take the same amount of damage regardless of what you're wearing.
(Example. Level one planet. Flying monster hits me while wearing a full set of iron armor. 72 damage. Same bird hits me with no armor? 72 damage.)



~A logical person doesn't TOUCH the bird AI.

~A two year old makes birds the sole reason I dont even want to log into the game right now.





Lets be real here. This game is not hard. You do not have "UBER LEET SKILLS!" this is NOT a game for the "hardcore" its a 2d sidescroller. The combat is not next gen, and you're not amazing.

All this patch managed to introduce was frustration. Why it hasn't been reverted entirely is beyond me. Did anyone even test it before it was released? (I mean, the amount of money and support it has received already pushes to a point where I EXPECT things like people play-testing a massive update that is going to WIPE ALL MY PROGRESS.)





PS: It isn't funny or amusing at all that you made our characters 4 blocks high, and made mining take out a 3 x 3. Its time consuming, and its annoying.

L-Block is still way better.

 

Some of the people modding the game are, and HAVE done -way- better. See "Backpack lanterns." and "using more than one Tech at a time" ?

 

I don't know if I should take you seriously or not, given your tone. But I'll take a chance.

- Starter weapons were nerfed along with the hotfix on the OP crafted weapons. If you didn't start over to get the starter weapon that was worse than the new crafted weapons, that's your fault.
- The birds have been raged about 1000x already. The devs have addressed it. Be patient. (Also, special attacks are armor piercing from what I can tell. If you think it's a bug, go report it instead of complaining about it)

Huh... 2 bullets to address your entire rant. Maybe you should consider less "I know how to insult people without cursing" fluff to your posts.

 

They are experimenting with new formulas. The nerf was a rushed patch to make so people had to actually play the game instead of being able to one time everything.

- Bugs infuriate you

You could hold off til Stage 2; it will be a lot less buggy, and you won't have to worry about wipes.

 

You're playing an unfinished and pretty rough build, don't expect patches to be tested before they're released. We're the ones who playtest them... that's the sole purpose of this beta/alpha

 

A little extreme on the point to insult, but otherwise accurate that they are generally going about their adjustments wrong.

Why would I start my character over so they could give me an even shittier weapon? Much like the LEGENDARY drop I just got that has 3 dps on it. Yawn.

Thats just it, it isn't "bugs" nor do I mind testing "unfinished code" I do mind when the work they're doing is making the game less enjoyable as a whole. Its not a bug, its "INTENDED"

 

O.K. I want every poster complaining about the "hardcore" people being hard on the newbies to remember this thread title. "I feel like a child put this patch together".

The game went from being REALLY fun. (40+ hours) to...

Losing my character. (Not even mad.)
Getting one shot by birds who are super aggro and make the game pretty unfun.
Having coal near impossible to find, meanwhile gold and silver? Everywhere.
Having weapons nerfed into near uselessness. (Starter weapon is just as good.)


I don't see at what point anyone thought this patch was even half decent? (Ok, maybe the removal of armor pen.)
