Feedback I feel cheated out of my augment...

So I ran into a Light 3 augment, didn't know how they worked, slapped it onto my EPP and hey presto I didn't need the halogen pack no more
(wich kinda makes that item pointless in the first place for multiple reasons I won't go into right now)

I find another augment and then the question hits me, what do I do with it ?
Light 3 is amazingly good and has litterally no alternatives anywhere near as good, but what happens if I use another augment on an EPP ?

    do they stack ?
    does it replace it ?
and would I recover my light 3 if it did ?

turns out answer to all of theses was "no"

And now I'm down the best augment in the game....

I feel so utterly cheated right now...

Yeah, that does kind of suck, sorry mate. They really should make it so that they can swap out instead deleting each other.

No spoilers, but you can buy some more augments later on, but they are quite expensive.

There's a mod that makes all augments emit light as if they were Light augs of the same level.

Doesn't solve the issue that augs are destroyed when you install new ones or upon upgrading your EPP, but it does make Light no longer far and away the best aug, and it makes up for the Halogen/Xenon packs being worthless in this build.

There's also an aug shop that opens up late in the game.

I feel like the cosmetic slot should give you the benefit of light when the lantern stick etc. is in there. Otherwise they are basically useless unless you're on the most harmless of planets. That's how it was in Glad Giraffe.

shop opens up later in the game -> when?

Several planets and nearly 100 hours gave me 0 augments. The only augments I got first were the rewards from the museum side quest. I felt cheated that upgrading my EPP didn't allow the augment to carry-over.

The main quests aren't the most pleasant, imo because Boss fights aren't my idea of fun.

After you do the Apex Mission (IIRC, it's Floran -> Hylotl -> Avian -> Apex -> Glitch), which is the Violium/Ferozium/Aegisalt Tier.

You can always do a /spawnitem if you feel that Augments should be swap-able, unless of course you're playing on a server. So if you had a Light 3 augment and "lost" it and want it back, you simply do this:

    Code:
    /admin
    /spawnitem lightaugment3
    /admin

And make sure your mouse cursor is somewhere near you (and not deep in a wall or something) so you can pick it up when it spawns.

EDIT: BTW, just use torches -- Healing II/III is far superior, lol. Seriously it's OP.

I'm actually really tempted to try just using these glowing pants I found. I lose the stat-bonuses, but potentially get more benefit from having a damage/regen augment. Shame they don't glow in the cosmetic slot, really. I've also seen a shotgun with a torch as the right-click fire.

Regen augment is pretty damn good, as is +Damage. I've also found the Poison resist one situationally useful (it lets you swim in poison, which is a thing you sometimes have little choice about). Light *is* amazing in dark places you're not torching up obsessively, though.

Well thats a problem since I'm stuck at the Hylotl mission that refuses to load and loop-warps me to my ship...

got to the point I even have the end game tier stuff already...

    Check the starbound.log, there'sprobably a reason why.

Dropping pants for light you lose out on +damage, +defense, +health, and +energy in favor of one augment. Not saying that trade off is never worth it, but the higher your tier the better that augment needs to be.

Augments are more often found in secret areas of dungeons \ deep underground. They are pretty rare on the surface.

Ouch, sucks OP lol. I found out the hard lesson of not upgrading the EPP with an augment already in it. Grr!

Yeah, I think you're right. It's probably a better trade off to use a 1-hander with a flashlight, one of the guns with a built-in torch on alt-fire, or a glowy sword.

Personally I'm rolling around with three EPPs with different augments (light when needed, damage or regen the rest of the time depending on how well I'm kill-tanking).
