Perhaps don't assume what I have and have not read, since I did read your entire QQ massive whine thread.

So there's an exploit that crashes servers. Well shoot. Guess that means you have to not play multiplayer till it's fixed or deal with said crashes.

 

Nah, you just don't understand video game development, even at the very low level I do.

you said the devs are violently beating up the "multiplayer community" with every patch, and what I said is that the devs are priorizing the entire starbound community, by fixing and improving the game as a whole, both SP and MP, instead of priorizing one or another

 

You are mixing video game development with a thread that has very little relation to it, if you need to discuss the subject so badly post on more relevant threads.

 

That's great, and I stated that I am thankful for that in my main post (the game improving over time), but it's not the main subject of this thread. Read page 2 and you'll understand our concern.

 

You're complaining about how the developers are ignoring multiplayer, when infact they are trying to just develop the game. In game development bugs happen, in most games bug are ironed out, in this one they tried to get as many as they could before the update, but failed at a few. I'm sure you would be much more sad if they had released the update without any testing at all.

I know the main concern here is how MP is broken, and how you want it fixed!
I saw that thing the other guy "AzZ00 something" posted, that can break any server...

As I said in my other post: Great! keep telling devs what's wrong! that's the job of a good beta tester!
However, you made it look like they are priorizing SP over MP, which isn't true...

No, it means that it should be fixed soon or we and some others will be taking down all online servers we can find on any listing

Then you can explain the players that cannot play together anymore how multiplayer is not relevant, I'm sure you'll do well at that.

I would indeed be more sad, because I thought the testing was a great idea.

But this issue I am addressing has been lingering around for much longer than you can possibly know...

 

Can you please tell me what your complaining about? Because it seems to be about a way to crash starbound servers, but also about how the devs won't fix it, and why they won't add a bunch of features to servers. You've not once said that the exploit was available before this update, unless that's not what your complaining about, because your argument is very non-existent.

 

Can you at least try to debate? Saying this means absolutely nothing if you cant even try defending.

 

It only became more apparent and relevant with this update, Update occurs - people slowly update their client BUT not everybody does this at the same time... Servers will get updated before all clients get the chance to update, resulting in crashes everywhere. It's not even relevant that the issue existed before at all, because only with the update it was starting to cause issues on a very large scale, and it will continue to do so with each update.

All of the people that are even slightly involved with servers can tell you that this argument is valid and relevant.

They admit the server stuff needs work but they do have more important priorities, such as making sure the base game aspects actually WORK properly before they worry about the multiplayer server coding. So basically according to the roadmap, we are lucky to have a multiplayer option at all. Please stop being a jerk and telling people to exploit a bug or to crash the starbound website. I know you don't want to hear it but WE ARE IN VERY VERY EARLY BETA, THEY ARE STILL CODING STUFF FOR THE BASE GAME! THEY WILL WORK ON THE SERVER STUFF WHEN THEY HAVE THE BASE GAME CODED AND WORKING PROPERLY!
