I would love to see hydroponic stations. With these stations we can grow crops indoors or in our spaceships. They would be self sufficient in that they would cut down on the work needed to tend crops (assuming there is any). This would also allow you to keep rare plants from being destroyed by other players, Mobs, or NPCs. Any thoughts?

Seems like a practical enough idea. However, the plants would need to receive some sort of light in order to grow. I'm not sure if a light source would be included with the hydroponic station, but if not- perhaps if glass blocks were used to build the walls/ ceiling to a room, the said room could become a greenhouse. Also, perhaps there could be a lamp block as well, for when it gets dark or for those who don't want to build a greenhouse.
I think it would make sense if the light source is attached above the hydroponics. A full on greenhouse would be cool.
Up-voted. This would be necessary for those Fortress of Solitude type places on frozen wasteland planets.
I'm pretty sure that was just something they overlooked, and you will not be able to do that in in the game. That just doesn't make any sense.
Uh, no, they showed it off. All it takes for plants in the game to grow is dirt. Plants are grown in ships all the time in sci-fi, it helps with the oxygen and provides the crew with food.
