I'm one of the few people not satisfied with the graphic of the hunting knife weapon. Few actually care for the weapon's aesthetic or design and feel it's not worth stressing over. I'd argue why put it in in the first place if you don't put some care behind what the item is? The bows have a lot of effort put into their design to simply be replaced by guns down the line, for example. While this weapon will see a short-lived use by most players before moving onto genuine melee weapons and guns, the weapon should be truthful to what it is. Many people have mistaken it as a greatsword and it in fact has been utilized as one several times in the course of it's existence. It's name betrays it's weapon category as it's not a fast swinging dagger but one of the one-handed swords. Both are utilized with a shield. Another issue is the graphic is positioned slightly off and hasn't been refined. One's hand will not grip the blade's handle but have it wedged up in one's wrist. I made a quick edit of the weapon using a one-handed sword template to show how it'd look more proportionate to it's weapon category without sacrificing the full identity of the original blade. It looks quite nice in-game and doesn't obscure the one-handed blade's slash animation that follows it like the current one does. I think both having a two-handed and one handed hunting blade could work as well.
Yeah that "knife" they gave us is more of a claymore. I'd like a larger array of hunting equipment all together.
I think the graphic may be a placeholder as it's actually a test graphic you can find inside the folders. This would explain why it lines up very poorly with the character's hand. It's overall a very underwhelming sprite and they could've easily whipped up an actual knife.
That knife is downright ridiculous. It's a KNIFE,not an oversized factory blade!Whoever made this watched too much anime or played FF7 too many times.We CAN keep it small,it's even why you don't hunt with a sword actually,cause it's too cumbersome and destructive. Therefore,I actually never found a weapon bigger than this.Like,wtf.
