Closed humble/steam question

I have a few preorders. None were purchased as gifts as I know I can just give the steam key away. So steam is fine but I am wondering if I want to give the non steam version (direct download) but have already claimed the humble page will I still be able to do that? I know devs have stated there will be no drm so is there literally nothing stopping me from just sending someone the non steam version?

The main concern is that I know they are planning on an account system, but I don't know if that will somehow be worked into the non-steam version as well. How would they tie it to my purchase?

 

If you've claimed the humble bundle page, unless you give the direct download link to someone I don't think anyone will be able to download it.

I don't think the account system was mentioned at all so we have no idea how that would work.

Hmm I think I completely missed claiming it, is there a need/reason to claim it if you don't have a humble account?

 

You need to have an account to be able to claim it. Having an account and claiming it is useful if you have a lot of Humble purchases so they're all in one place, but otherwise the only really benefit is for extra security, but it's pretty unlikely someone could randomly guess your key page URL and claim it for themselves.

 

Yeah I like to have all my purchases in one place on one account rather than keeping the urls and having a chance of loosing them.
