RELEASED Hull Plating Blocks & More 35.0 (Concrete Tileset)

Blocks that resemble parts from ship backgrounds, plus some other odds and ends.

It figures that in the week after I move and have to do without internet access at home, Starbound gets a new stable update. Geez. Public library at the moment. Just to check messages and what not. Was badly missing the internet and had to do something about it.

Anyway, is this error message just appearing in the log file and then it works just fine? Or is it actually crashing? If it's just in the log file, then it's something I already know about. Starbound complains about trying to make a blueprint from a recipe, saying it can't find item "X-recipe". However, it works just fine for almost everything I've tried it with. I think it's just a start-up check complaining that I'm doing something the devs never thought anyone would do. Recipes that produce blueprints are the only way I can get Starbound to sell blueprints from the Terramart.

If it's crashing, then at the moment, I can't help you. Sorry. I really am. I'm stuck with the older release until I get internet access at home and cannot even begin to fathom what's wrong.

I see the errors in the console about recipes, this one however is a legit crash.

The offending log file would be much more helpful. However, I still won't be able to reproduce the crash myself, so I can only guess at what's going wrong. Is it crashing on start-up or when you do something specific?

If you'd like to do some debug work for me and have the know-how, try this:

Under the recipes folder for the mod, there's one labeled for the terramart. Can't remember the exact path off the top of my head, but it contains every blueprint producing recipe. Erase that terramart folder and tell me if it still crashes. You can work around the absence of the blueprints in the Terramart by using the "/spawnitem" admin command and attach "-recipe" to the end of the item name whose blueprint you want.

If this prevents the crash from happening, then I have a half-decent idea of what's going on and can possibly produce a fix. It's a pretty drastic change I've got in mind, however, so I don't want to do it unless I have to.

Heh. And I thought I'd be getting a new release out this week. Wouldn't do much good if it includes a game-breaking bug... I even had some new art done. Oh well.

Oh, why did they have to update the game while I'm stuck off the internet? Argh.

Just deleted the terramart folder and it let me play just fine. I tested with creating the avian racial blocks to deck out my ship and it seems to work very nicely now with the new stable update. also checked up the assets, in the new stable update terramart no longer has a folder under recipes in the core assets. it seems there is a different way to add recipes to the terramart now. it's possible, one of the other mods I use (*cough* Gardenbot 2.0 (Reboot Edition) *cough*) does it.

Thank you. That at least confirms some of my suspicions on what files were the problem. I'm still not entirely certain what the true problem is, but I should be able to skirt around it, now,

I've been working on an overhaul of how recipes for the mod are learned. I'll be adding crafting stations (I'm using that term very loosely) that provide the player with "Plans" for any given series of blocks.

It's basically an instant mail-order station that lets you "place an order" and then the product shows up instantly. The first one will be built from a Teleporter Core (the instant part) and some wood.

I'm taking the idea of instant mail-order further and providing other odds and ends for sale, mostly basic crafting materials, such as dirt, stone, clay and sand. I'm throwing in a few other blocks, as well, for much higher prices. I might add food and seeds, as well, probably at slightly higher prices than the Terramart.

I hope to have the next update ready in a day or two, but I'll need some volunteers to test on Pleased Giraffe. I'll post an experimental link in this thread for people that want to try it. After I've heard some news on how well it works, I'll do a proper update.

Okay, (possibly) willing test subjects, I've uploaded an experimental release to my file host. Just follow the usual download link and look for the "Experimental" folder. You'll find v25.0 (Instant Mail Edition) there.

Here's a few instructions for use, just to get you going:
First, you've got to build a crafting station. It's called an Instant Mail Catalog and comes in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large. The first two are built at any crafting table. The Large is made at the Research Station on your ship. Each includes the items available from the previous size of catalog. You can upgrade an existing catalog or start with a larger version. You will need a Teleporter Core (the mail is sent instantly, after all).

Second, you've got to buy the appropriate Plans for the blocks you want to build. Holding it will teach you the entire set of recipes for the blocks. It's not used up, so when this mod updates again, just go pick up the plans at least once and you'll know the new recipes. I'll make note of which plans will teach you recipes for new blocks when I add them.

Third, build the blocks in the usual fashion that you're used to,

Some final notes: Ore-derived blocks are no longer automatically known. Buy their plans. There's a new series of stone/ore combination blocks. Some are cobblestone-based and some few are crystals.

And please, if you test this release, let me know how it works! I have no idea of whether or not it will work on Pleased Giraffe. I'm still stuck with Upbeat Giraffe for the time being. If it works okay, I'll make it the next stable release and update the overview page to reflect it.

    Have fun!

initial test: got experimental 25.0 mod.
    installed to my mods folder.
attempting to start game gives error "cannot create recipe Sapphiregemspark-recipe " error and crashes game.
same error as previous version. so I deleted the terramart folder from under recipes.
second attempt, recieved error "cannot create recipe, cannot find "liquidalienjuice" "
out of time, I'll check into it more later and Edit this post if I find anything.

Edit1: just found out Alien Juice was removed from the game for the Pleased Giraffe stable update.

Edit2: deleted the Alien Juice recipe from the instant mail folder and it seems to work. I built the large mail order station and bought all the recipes. I didn't craft each individual tile, but the one's I did work.

    So to sum up.
deleted terramart folder from recipe folder
    deleted liquidalienjuice.recipe from instantmail/materials
    works like it should. Yay!

    Hope this helps

Thank you. Looks like I goofed up packaging the archive and updated an older (unreleased) archive with newer files. Whoops.

I'll get a fix out soon as I can and re-check my work on my home computer. I could swear I erased everything but the gelatin recipe from the Terramart folder.

Edit: Just did a quick and dirty edit of the archive here on my laptop. You'll find it sitting alongside the previous release in the experimental folder. I'm going to go make sure I do the same at home, now. If all is well, I should get a proper update ready for general release in three days. Library isn't open on Sunday and Monday they're closed for Labor Day.

    Really Huge Update

Read the rest of this update entry...[DOUBLEPOST=1441726582][/DOUBLEPOST]As with the previous experimental release, I would like to hear from someone testing 26.0 on Pleased Giraffe. I haven't done anything too odd this time. I just can't test it myself on anything but Upbeat Giraffe.

    Thank you.

Hopefully, I should be getting internet access in the next week or so and won't have to beg for testers again.

Version 26.0 works great! no errors.
1 bug, novakid cream platform only lists (x3) for the name in the crafting menu.

That's an old one, actually. There's a few things about in the mod that have names that are just slightly too long. I need to test and figure out what the cut-off point is and then check through names and shorten them. It's just a project that I'm being too lazy to do, since it's a relatively minor bug.

Thank you for testing for me. It gets some worry off my mind and helps me feel more free to add more stuff.

I'm more than happy to help. this is one of my favorite mods for starbound.
here's a preview of what I like to do. (I'm seriously thinking of making a mod to do this automatically)

Also thanks for the rivetless panels, that allows me to get the 2 horizontal look in the middle of the rooms.

The Recipe for "Impervium Cobblestone" is not named. In it's place is this: --> (x20) <--
:) Wish I could fix it, but I haven't got the time or tools! This bug has always bothered me!

Could I suggest you make a custom work station (or the mail order catalog itself) to build all the lockers and blocks at? You've got so many they're starting to clutter the vanilla crafting bench!
