This on the current stable or nightly? I only test on the stable.

Did you have any trouble with any of the previous releases that included purchasable blueprints? It looks like it's complaining about them.

And what is this 'wt-feather' item? I know that's not part of my mod.

Hmmm... News flash: the game ran when I installed your mod, and the one at fault is a mod that lets anyone craft furniture (one released recently)

 

Which mod? I'm kind of curious to find out what kind of conflict it might be. I did do some odd things to crafting materials (learning blueprints on pick-up) recently and I'm wondering if I should add the recipes another way.

While I've got you talking, how was the new off-forum download? Any trouble/weirdness? Was it surprising? I just want to get an outside opinion.

As for the off-forum download, no problems, but kinda vague. It better be on the likes of Dropbox, so that from there, new downloaders get more ideas about your mod's filesize, type of file, compared to Google's simple "Download attachment here".

 

I went with the Google Sites thing because it was a quick fix and did the best I could to get a direct link to the individual file.

I could instead direct traffic to a page with a list of file releases. Would that be better?

All-right. I'll use that for future releases and probably put up a note about the newest release being the last one listed.[DOUBLEPOST=1439392954][/DOUBLEPOST]I think I'm finally ready to take the plunge on making crafting stations for this mod. However, I'm not taking the same route others have. Want something different.

Instead of having all the blocks for this mod made at one station, I'm leaving them as is. My thinking is to change how the recipes are learned.

Basically, I'm planning to make a pair of "Drafting Table" crafting stations that let you draw up blueprints for the blocks, instead of buying them from the Terramart. First craft the table and then you spend some pixels to craft the blueprints, as a research cost.

The first would be Wooden Drafting Table, made at a regular Crafting Table out of Wood Planks. This would give access to the blueprints for ore-derived blocks and crafting item derived blocks. I'm thinking these blocks would be rather cheap to learn. I may see if I can produce a "Master Blueprint" or something of the like to get all the recipes at a bulk discount.

The second would be Titanium Drafting Table, made at the Research Station out of Titanium Bars. This would give access to the blueprints for racial ship blocks. It would also prevent players from going to the outpost and learning the recipes before they have access to the Portable Pixel Printer.

What do you think of this idea? Any suggestions on making it better? Any thoughts on where I might find some art to steal borrow for this?

 

I've been poking through Starbound's assets, looking for some random inspiration. I stumbled on the files related to liquids and thought, why not a set of blocks based on liquids, somehow? It wasn't long before I had an awesome idea: there's always room for Jell-O.

So, how about a shiny gelatin block made form water? Anybody else think this would be hilarious? Perhaps a gelatin fortress...

Glowing version made from healing water.

And one made from poison, just so I can make a joke ("It looks like lime Jell-O, but it smells like toxic waste!").

Jelled Erchius Fuel block would make another fun, glowing block.

Possibly a Half Cooled Magma block made from lava and water, that looks like red-hot rock.

Any other ideas spring to anyone's mind?

Hrm. I'm probably going to have to make a Powdered Gelatin crafting item. Probably made from meat or leather, though if it's leather, it should probably yield a lot of Raw Gelatin.

Edit: Did some research. Could even make Raw Gelatin from bones. Hehe. So, meat, leather and bones as sources. Cool. Will require at least three recipes.

Haha. Add sugar and make marshmallow blocks, too!

 

I think we may make a living fleshy monster ship out of those assets!

That was an interesting subject to Google. Hehe. Wow.

I think I'll be doing an entire series of Cobblestone mixed with Ore. It's the perfect thing to add to that empty space on the sampler image.

 

Or a bloody variant of Cell Materia recolor of a Cobblestone too may work?

Well, folks, I'm down to that terribly fun part of a move where I'm about to be cut-off from the internet, for an indeterminate period of time.

I may do one more update in the next week, but I'll have to go to the public library with my laptop for that. I'm not fond of doing so, however. It may just happen that when I get back online you'll see a relatively large update. Depends on how I feel.

It's been fun working on this project.

I love this mod! just an fyi, when i try to use it with the new pleased giraffe unstable update i get an error saying " cannot create recipe" . thought you'd like to know.

 

Yeah same, its like its missing one of the gemspark recipe files
