How would we pressurize water if possible?

compressors! thats how we could pressurise water, or maybe removing air from a space(almost the same thing?)

perhaps we could make water grenades, throw one and when it explodes it causes allot(10*10 squares perhaps maybe a bit more) of water to appear so you could flood rooms and drown people :sparta:

    Water balloons are cuterer. X3

who need cute, it is used for killing people! that's not cute!! plus they would burst with pressurized water.

Killing people can be very cute, think of a killer cat! And it could be a lot of water packed into a very small balloon, thus being pressurized?

    t
he rubber would stretch and burst

Yes I think a pump would be the most likely way. We had pumps in Terraria, but no water pressure. The addition of water pressure almost guarantees that there will be pumps.

Maybe think, natural gun rubber? It would have to be a heavy duty balloon.

I would imagine it'd be the inverese of pumping a tire :lolwut:

I kind of hope there isn't compressed water. If there is, I hope it requires crazy sci-fi technology to achieve/contain.

Ordinary semi-realistic water pressure is cool, though.

Bust just think how awesome it would be to compress water. I mean, that'd be awesome! Just think of how well it could be weaponized? It should be very hard to compress it, being as it takes a LOT OF FREAKING NEWTONS.

Nornal water pressure should be around too, of course. Water physics are just fun to mess around with in every game.

Just think of the beautiful water-based traps that can be made in Dwarf Fortress? It would be a fine edition to Starbound.

I don't know. It seems like it'd be kind of funny at first, but ultimately not very practical or effective. I mean, any time a compressed-water trap/gun/whatever gets triggered you'd end up with a lot of water all over the place, and if you wanted to use it again, you'd have to pack a bunch more water into the contraption. It'd be messy for sure, and probably gimmicky and tedious to boot.

It just seems like it would end up being more annoying than fun after the first few "lols." I feel like the water mechanics can be fun and robust without this magical compression.

You make very good points. As ineffective as it would be, it would still be very fun to mess around with for a while.

Tiy's magical tool that creates water where he points.Long time before the vid , he mentioned that he filled a crate using this tool and the crate exploded.

When did Tiy say that? That's freaking awesome!

I think you could overlay water in the same spot to create pressurized water

Maybe placing blocks on water would do that..

It's pretty old , I saw it on a thread long before the water tech vid was released.Tried to find it but no luck.

I think the idea of pumps might work.
I also think that Epic's idea of placing a block would push the water around it, or into a more confined space, would work too.
And if we have some form of buckets to move water around like Terraria and Minecraft had, maybe we could just place one water on another. Or 'craft' that water bucket with something else or another bucket of water to create a bucket of pressurized water.
