How would one find crystals?

Hey! I was just wondering if there's some easier way to go about getting crystals. I use this mod and this mod in attempt to improve my experience and immersion with my Avian character, but regarding the Avian Tech mod, despite saying that all the materials should be easy to find, I can't find any crystals. I even started on a planet with tons of obsidian, lava, ash, etc.

 

I thought the only place you would find such is in a crystal biome. I really don't know much on those mods listed; never used them, but in default game it is in a specific mini-biome that you would find crystals far as I know....

Should be a good source of crystals, provided you're not using any mods like Variety is the Spice of the Universe that randomize the stars.

 

I haven't confirmed if Enraged Koala still does this, but during Furious Koala, if I dug down to the core of a planet that had obsidian, there was a decent chance for crystals to be there as well.

 

I should say that this is a new character, and I'm only in Alpha as of now, but Beta's cool too.
