How to: Get a dog pet

Hello all! Today i will inform you on how to obtain a dog as a pet in the game "Starbound"

NOTE: THIS WILL REQUIRE YOU TO BE WILLING TO USE /ADMIN AND BEING ABLE TO CHEAT IT INTO THE GAME!

Anyways first, you will need the following

1x Capture Pod

--------------------------

What you will want to do is put yourself in admin mode.

If you are unfamiliar with how to do this type the following:

/admin

now that you are in admin mode, we will need to spawn the dog itself.

To do so type the following command:

/spawnmonster pinfriend

after doing that you just need to throw the Capture pod at him.

Now enjoy your fluffy little companion!

 

I know this will work for the cats and dogs but post 1.0 how do I capture critters? I have built the creature capture station but has not seen a critter capture pod to capture a critter without having to hit it, and if I do hit it with any weapon and no armor it will die instantly.

If it's an actual critter, there's no need to weaken it.

I've also found the dog in the wild at a human refugee camp or something.

 

Just throw your pod at it.

 

You can just catch them without weakening. the exception to this is the black cat in Hylotl Villages, you have to weaken it. I suggest you grab a low pow auto pistol, take off all your armor (to remove Bonus damage %) and fire a single shot at at time. get it to about half.
