        Get the author to update it? If a mod is listed as incompatible it means exactly that, it doesnt work anymore.
        Rather then let people potentially corrupt their saves, SMAPI just refuses to load known problem mods like that.

          @tested34 That mod uses an event that was removed in SMAPI 1.9, so it probably didn't work correctly. It's on the list of mods I'll update soon if the author doesn't update it first; you can watch the SMAPI 2.0 thread to know when it's updated.

          If you still want to use it now, you can force SMAPI to load it anyway. Note that bypassing compatibility checks is not recommended — the mod will be loaded, but might crash or corrupt your save. Here's how:
          1. Open StardewModdingAPI.config.json in a text editor.
          2. Find Three-heart Dance Partner.
          3. Add this before the next } character:
            Code:
            , "Compatibility": "AssumeCompatible"

            So... I've downloaded the updated Better Sprinklers Mod... but I still get an error D:

            BirthdayMail also doesn't work. Mail is there, but no text loaded.

                Hello! I've been trying to get the Longevity mod working for a while now, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm on Mac, and using SMAPI 1.15.13, but the directions on the download page on Nexus are very confusing. I've gotten the taxes part to work, but when I download it, it somehow uninstalls SMAPI, and on 2 separate occasasions has actually deleted the mods folder along with it. When I look at Terminal, it says:
                [17:56:12 WARN SMAPI] Longevity is missing some manifest fields (UniqueID) which will be required in an upcoming SMAPI version.

                How does one fix this, if this is indeed the issue?

                The one time I seemed to get it to work, the taxes showed up when I walked out of the house, but then when I clicked tab it the screen just fizzled for a second and a sqaure cream text box appeared for a second before going away. Also, when I went to the store to see if I could buy new crops, all of the new items said had a picture of a white question mark and said "error item"

                How does one fix this, if this is indeed the issue?

                      Yep, I think you're right. Birthday Mail includes a mail.xnb file to put in your Content folder, but that's only for English. You could replace mail.de-DE.xnb with the same file, but all your mail would become English. You can create a German version of the file if you're interested; see creating an XNB mods for more info. (Note that I'm not maintaining the mod, but you can post it in a comment to the mod page if you want.)

                      I don't think Longevity can do that. Maybe you verified the game integrity, which on Mac would revert SMAPI's launcher? I'm not sure how your Mods folder was deleted, though.

                      That means the mod won't work in SMAPI 2.0 (unless you fix the manifest), but it should work fine until then.

                      The best place to ask is the Longevity support thread.

                      It seems to work fine for me. I posted a message in that thread.

                        @Pathoschild The Mod also works. However, when I came back from the mine later, and went to sleep, the game has hung up and in the SMAPI console was a red error message because of the mod.

                        Edit: Okay I test it again and then post the log.

                          And it hasn't been updated since January 2017.

                          But... I see in the list of mods you updated, something called 'GateOpener'. How do they compare in usability, and would it be worth it to update 'Autogate' ?

                              SMAPI says it isn't compatible anymore, and it hasn't been updated in over a year and the page states ''Mod Assets Permissions: Anyone can alter/redistribute the mod's assets without the author's consent.''

                                  By the way, SMAPI still says that FarmAutomation.ItemCollector.0.5 has things that will be deprecated in next version.

                                  Also, I have this old mod (called : Stamina Regeneration) that still works (but will not in 2.0), but I lost track of its origin, mostly... What little I can find seems to point toward (old page) : https://github.com/Zoryn4163/SMAPI-Mods/releases/tag/1.3 -but, I only see 'RegenMod' there (which is also on your main page, but updated). Are they the same (renamed at some point) ?
