Closed How To Fix Bad Frame Rate In Starbound!!

What fixed the frame rate for me was...
Go to C:\Program files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Stabound

Open up the Stabound config file with notepad.

If u used notepad u need to press Cntl+F to search.

Search for vsync.

Next to vsync you will see it says true. Replace true with false.

Save the changes u made. Launch Starbound and boom, enjoy the frames!

 

Did sadly not fix my framerate :/

 

I did this as well, but it has not made any improvement in my framerate.

Check to see if your running steam in compatability, if you are there's a good chance it will solve the problem.

Thanks for that bit of info.. Don't think anything short of magical optimization'll fix my true problems, but where it runs smoothly it runs better with vsync off Sometimes I think its all the flickering lights (or just all the dynamic lightsources period..)

It's in the starbound folder, have you ran the game to the main menu once?

 

I would just like to say that this has worked wonderfully. I have gone from a awful 6FPS to averaging around 30FPS just by disabling VSync. Many thanks!
