    Falketh Yeah, You!

So after a failed attempt at beating the dragon king and then getting the decoy princess again how do I beat this guy.
I also have full titanium a titanium 2 handed sword and a decent gun. (And 4 plasma grenades =) )

    Stand in one spot.

    Shoot upward with ranged.

    Block when he swoops.

    Step 1. Get dirt
Step 2. Build a dirty fort
Step 3. Dig a small hole to shoot out of it

    Win.

Use the 3D printer and make about 20 turrets. Some people might call it "cheating" but it works. I usually build an arena with the turrets on both sides pointing inward.

Also works, but entirely pointless due to how broken the Bone Dragon's AI is. Literally can not hit you if you stand still. If you don't have a shield you can put two-three blocks up on either side of yourself to block his swoop for you. All that's necessary.

And even that isn't really. You could just bandage as he swoops one to three times during an average fight.

Given that the fight is as boring and simple as possible, so much so that many people mistakenly think they need to put in effort and get hit/killed because of it, with dragon's broken AI, I don't see this as cheating so much as 'making this boring slog of a fight take less of my valuable time'.

Yeah, it isn't necessary, but if you don't have a shield it could help.

I dug a little dirt hole in the ground to stand in and had one of my endgame characters leave me an Impervium shotgun in my warehouse. I think it's going to be an inherited shotgun nicknamed "Ol' Bessie", used for boss fights by all of my future characters.

Auto turrets, I actually left the arena and made some bread while they shot him up. Like the other guy said about 20 will do but more is good.

To beat every boss in the game, I just dig a whole, leaving an opening at the top which is only two tiny blocks wide ( not the four block, only two tiny blocks wide ) and shoot up. The bosses never touch me. Easy as pie.

There are plenty of easy ways to beat the Dragon. If you are looking for a more intense/dangerous battle i suggest getting Gravity Bubble and one of the Legendary weapons that fire some sort of projectile(the bone throwing hammer is my personal favorite for this boss). Then i find or create allot of screens worth of flat(ish) land and build 4 block wide columns out of Cobblestone BRicks from the ground to a decent height straight up.Then you'll want to clear a path on the ground so you can run underneath all the columns. Also you'll want to space the columns a decent distance apart.Basically just make sure you can gravity Bubble float from one to the other without worry of running out of Energy.2 columns with the Dragon in between them. Then i pretty much go from the ground to the top of a column, hit him a few times and float over to the other column, hit a few more times, drop to the ground to get the Dragon to lose altitude and proceed too run circles around him, hiding under/behind one of the columns when i need to heal. The columns should hold up fine for the most part unless you linger behind one for a really long time.Overly complicated?Yes...More exciting than hiding in a hole?Hells yes

Turrents would make a good shooting buddy.

Yeah they would definitely help. When i came up with this strategy turrets weren't even in-game yet..in vanilla anyways.Since then I've been playing with friends...he's much easier with 2 or 3 friends.

    1. Find a pirate ship(gamma sector if possible)
    2. spawn dragon on ship.
    3. watch them kill it or join in if you want.

In future, use the forum's search tool. We've had like 10 threads on this. :p

Also, consider the players that haven't reached this boss yet, and maybe change the thread title to "Tier 3 Boss" or something to avoid spoilers.

Thanks, I hadn't beat him yet, so I didn't realize how horrible his AI was. I refuse to cheat (a la go online and find specific coords to get specific loot) and hadn't found any decent guns yet.

    1. Go to 3D printer and buy defense turrets.
    2. Place turrets facing different directions and turn them on.
    3. Build shelter out of cobble and spawn boss.

I normally do the 'turret gauntlet' method, but I will be doing this from now on. Thanks for that.
