Because that is basically the closest thing to a release date we have be given to date. And soon is better than "Some time this year" And also because BETA BETA BETA I CANT WAAAIT

I think you are all getting your hopes up way to high. Bartwe said there would be no beta in October or November. You'll be waiting till December at the very least.
That's why I already put up my Christmas tree! Lol. Hellooooo!! That's ok, though Ex, you see... October is over with. That means within the next 60 days, my helmet will be on, my drool guard will be on my keyboard, and my Eludium PU-39 Space Modulator Sun Glasses will be donned. Cuz I'll be playing Starbound, baby. Bugs... characters falling through the planet surfaces to their deaths or not! I don't care! Yea.. I'll probably hold a parade in my living room, whereafter we'll drink punch and eat Hot Pockets....
Extra Life is a charity thing going on this Saturday. People sign up and form teams and try to raise money for diabetes research. People who are raising money then play video games 25 hours straight. Most people stream while they do it. I don't know if Roosterteeth means anything to you but they're participating. This all takes place on Saturday.
Wow, and where is this? Why don't they ever have anything cool like that here in NY? Oh yea.. because NY would tax the life out of it.. my bad. I wish Extra Life a whole day + game time of good fortune and may everything that comes in be blessed 2 fold. RIGHT ON!
As a gamedev and a true fan of Terraria & Starbound, I'd like to test the whole 3 parts of it. Hope we'll see the part 1 start soon!
