Sound overall plan. Only flaw I can see is massive amounts of user feedback, which is good and bad. Good, because you get feedback needed at this stage of development. But bad because I cannot see how a small team will comprehend that much feedback, like literally you guys are a small dev-team with a following near the amount AAA games get. Good luck and don't push into the red-zone at this stage, cruise.
Great news. Can't wait to check it out. I've been in SO many betas, and like to think I helped out most of them with my minor to moderate OCD perfectionist ways.
A good way is if you find a bug and can recreate it yourself. Say you get stuck somewhere over and over or find a way to launch yourself into orbit. Then you can screen record a short clip of how you did it (OBS is great) and then youtube it. It will defiantly save time on writing/explaining etc..
I wonder how many of those "STAGE 1" guys will not rage quit after the first crash, not complain about the buggy beta release or will ever file in a bug report... Hope chucklefish has some kind of automatic crash reports built in, at least for the early stages of beta. I know it is not nice to gather information about people, but having infos like exception stack traces or memory dumps are much more efficient to work with than "I didn't do anything wrong, the game just crashed! There were some kind of error message, but I just clicked OK and started a new game." A bug tracking system like JIRA or bugzilla is recommended, too, but I guess you already have something like that for planning. Apart from that: I'm in for stage 1, of course
I would very much like to sign up for part one, thank you. Hmm... I wonder if I've actually preordered yet. Better do it again to be sure. xD
I can't wait to start testing beta at it's earliest stage. I'm sure alot of people who have already pre-purchased would love the opportunity to iron out any and all bugs, to insure their invested money and time are not wasted. If they haven't implemented some sort of automatic crash report, I hope they atleast post how to show these bugs or a means to get them across to the devs. That said...YAY BETA!!!
I may have gotten so excited that I popped right out of the Toaster and landed butter side down on the kitchen floor. Really excited to see that we're coming in close to the beta now, Chucklefish and rest assured that I will be a player that reports bugs whenever possible.
Aw yeah! I will definitely be taking part in all three stages. I love giving feedback and reporting bugs (its my day job even!) Great work guys.
