Honestly, the only bugs they should be concerned about is taking care of fatal bugs (the kind that crash the game or your entire system), and leave the minor ones for us to find. Link or source? If it's fake, I'll summon Cthulu from the beyond to consume you!
we beta people are party rockin and we will be party rockin even louder once it starts, to anyone who dislikes it, neighbors, trolls, haters, and that old man in the basment, i have one thing to say. EDIT: i was REALLY REALLY really bored.
I'd like to ask devs a relevant question here. Not about beta release date, about the matter of the post. Developers! When the beta is out, are you more interested in the buglist-intensive feedback, or experience-intensive feedback? Which is more important to you at this phase? Or at each of three phases, if that's the case. What I mean is - you want to know our opinion, as players, on the technical side of the game (ie - bugs), or experience/emotions/adventure spirit of the game? Thanks! Hope this woun't be buried under other stuff in here.
molly tweeted she will be writing the next update so... i dunno hers are always about bug fixes so... so.....
And a friend told me he's actually God, then told me to read the bible. So, pics or it didn't happen.
to people who don't belive the mollygos tweet thingy : mollygos @mollygos 4h .@turkeynaruto no daily updates for the past few days because i’ve been really really busy. i’ll write one tonight though.
If you read the whole post, you can get a general idea of what they need. Obviously, in the first phase, they are looking for bugs, namely ones that are caused by varying hardware, which is reason #1 that you do an open beta test phase anyway (imho). then phase two is kind of all of the above, "Much of the focus in this stage will be on bug fixing, optimization and balance." Then phase three will be all about adding the main questline and adding "post beta" stuff, like Novakids and the pets system.
Lol, that's great. In all seriousness, yeah, it's true. I'll believe it if I see a screenshot. That'd be really nice to know that beta is coming before November ends.
Well, surely they WOULD be interested in us finding bugs. I'm not saying they wouldn't. I'm curious about how exactly are bugreports important relative to the non-tech stuff like "feel", how fun is the game, which stuff is working as intended and which is making the game less fun, or frustrating, or too complicated. Most of the time devs themselves get too intimate with their game during development cycle, and opinions like this from the "outside" could be quite precious. Speaking from experience.
Impossible. With how buggy the beta is going to be when it's released, there's NO WAY exploits won't exist. Trust me. Within hours, you're going to see some youtube vid of a guy replicating a million dirt blocks or something. And then it'll get patched.
They seemed to have spent a lot of time playtesting and getting it ready, with all the bugfixes and such (which they seem to focus on) I think it'll be fairly stable, I mean, yea you will have the people they try to break certain mechanics (good its a beta) but I feel like a standard play through will be solid. Granted none of us actually know anything about this game so far, I feel like when we finally get our hands on it it will certainly be stable.
