Testing for bugs just means you play the game, and take notes whenever something seems to mess up. Then you take those notes and send them away to a sub-section of the forum (or an email or such) dedicated to bug reports. Easy. If you're extra-creative, you get bonus bugs!
"He's been getting rather comfortable, I think, as humans tend to do when the scenery stops changing." -The Narrator Relevant quote, because this was the last thing I was expecting.
I've been giggling like a school girl the entire time as I read the update. Also don't worry, an entire army of scouters and bug squashes at your service Sirs and Ma'ams .
Very glad you guys are trying really hard to get this rolled out as soon as possible, I'm sure some people are a bit weary of hearing that beta is coming soon. : P
I would guess since they do multiplayer already with the alpha that it will be enabled from the get-go. Though I'm no dev, so don't quote me on that. On another note: People who play Stage 1 - you have been warned about the bugs. I seriously, seriously hope the forum isn't flooded with daily complaints and empty threats based on how broken the latest beta patch was or how your character or universe just got erased or or or.. etc. Seriously. Instant ignore if you do this after having a heads up of this magnitude.
I love testing buggy code. I am starting at stage 1. playing a beta is like playing a game one part at a time. it makes the game last longer. and I get to take part in the beta and help report bugs. so count me in. thumbs up to you guys
I'm going to be sad when I eventually find a cool trick, describe it on the forums, and see "exploit patched" in the next update. It happened to me with the Endless Space beta. Still. Just part of the fun. Bugs don't bug me.
Its not that hard, really you just play till something that is not supposed to happen happens and the tell the devs "Hey this thing happened that I don't think was supposed to happen" and then they go "Thanks we will fix that thing that shouldn't happen" and then you pat your self on the back and say "I have done good today" and go back to playing
Theres nothing more fun then a buggy (but improving) game, simply for the fun of saying I helped. That, and there is entertainment value in strange occurrences, that would not normally happen.
