I live in a place where if you have an internet connection that doesn't try to talk to you in some alien language when you connect, you're a wizard.

So... I've never been able to play anything with my real life friends online. Until it was too late anyways.

Guess that makes my answer 0.

  2. Torcularis

    Torcularis Title Not Found

Not a dern one. Not that I have many friends to begin with. :c

If it's cheap, I may surprise one of them with a gifted copy so I have someone to play with.

  3. Valkon

    Valkon Title Not Found

    Almost all of them.

    So about 6-7 people.

  4. Fauznaut

    Fauznaut Big Damn Hero

3 maybe 4, at least most of my friends are pc gamers :)

  5. Tom Baker

    Tom Baker Scruffy Nerf-Herder

    Maybe a few.

I can think of three off the top of my head. I know another guy I might be able to persuade, given his former liking forTerraria.

  7. Steam Pirate

    Steam Pirate Space Kumquat

    Sadly, 0. Forever alone :(

  8. Sham

    Sham Spoony Bard

    I'll be your friend!

I won't get to play online too much, but I will sometimes.

I know how that goes. I had T1 when I was going to school but now I am back on the dial-up.

One person tops, it's not zero because they are my family and see me hyping over this game almost every day.

I really hope to join a good server. I've never joined a good server before so I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, haha.

As for play style; sometimes I go solo, but I like going to a planet as a group like a "dungeon" and once there everyone does whatever they want on the surface. But underground excavations are done as a group. I just find it more fun this way.

When not on a "dungeon" planet, it would be nice to have one group homeworld "hub" owned by the server host that everyone decides on what to build there and each also have their own individual homeworlds, which may be secret or not.
I know that there's like a space station thingy but it just isn't the same as running around on a planet surface with towns/cities on it.

Personally, I like building castles, walls and towns.

Well, just what I'd like to do if I found a good server.
Depending on how difficult it is to host a server; internet connectivity most importantly, I may just do this myself and advertise it here.

But, without that... One person. :(

As many as I can convince to buy/ buy starbound for. Looking at 10 or so

    Kaizerd 2.7182818284590...

hmmm right now I convinced 1 of my friends, still working on the others, i might be able to get it to 2 people... if the other guy i convinced is also going to help hehe

  12. So far, in terms of people who I know personally, only my girlfriend and I will be playing Starbound. Most of my "flesh-and-bone" friends ( :p ) are not that much into games or are into different styles. Now that I think of it, the same applies to my online friends as well. :alien:

I can't stop but wonder how interesting it would be to play in a server with plenty of people - players would form corporations, explore as a group, hunt down tougher enemies together, etc. That could be a really nice experience. :)

  13. Soup

    Soup Giant Laser Beams

Unfortunately all my RL friends pretty much only play modern military shooters (everything except COD). I should be able to pull a few in from the Steamgifts community, though I don't know how much time they'll want to spend on the game.

  14. TheFireRed

    TheFireRed Big Damn Hero

We most coincide in the very same issue: none of our real life friends are going to play with us.

In my case, I'll be playing with some forum-mates, so a 4-pack at release would be fantastic!

  15. Bombzero

    Bombzero Giant Laser Beams

Yeah, sadly not too many people I know in real life are:
    a) interested in Starbound.
    b) not "nerds", I mean, I'm a rather highly intelligent, slightly arrogant person but I am by no means "nerdy" and really seem to have a tendency for things to not end well with playing games with those types. (Main reason is, just because I play a game with you doesn't mean I want to do nothing but talk to you about said game during normal life.)

  16. Kreuz Drache

    Kreuz Drache Big Damn Hero

Possibly one, but she's an online friend. She really liked Terraria, so she might stick around for Starbound for a bit. :D

  17. Dr scoobie

    Dr scoobie Giant Laser Beams

    i dont have any friends:(

    played terraria too much.

  18. Ghostar

    Ghostar Steakeater

All of my friends, but as sad as it sounds, all my friends ARE online. (I don't really have any offline) That being said I have several teams I plan to play with too, ASoG, The Darkbound Team, The Devs/Staff (if they will have me), And probably any group that wants me to chill with them.

At least 10-15, and we'll all be playing on the same server.

    Zody Weight of the Sky

i know like 3 people IRL that is going to pick it up
