How many different characters can you make in the character creator?

Not at all my good chum! You did a proper permutation!

All I did was factor in gender and races as being separate variations since there are some additional options only available to each. For the human male alone, there are exactly 13,285,800,000 variations! >)

In fact, the human male has the most amount of options. The least amount of total options is for the male and female birdy peoples. They only have 2,613,600,000 variations.

EDIT: I pulled that number out of my behind, so don't go around saying "This super cool guy with a sloth avatar did some crazy maths! You should check it out!"

 

no rounding at all. there were a few options with only 10 variations, thus, zeros.

you too can do the math! just multiply all the options together (the max number, so if there's 10 colors for hair and 11 colors for shirts, it's 10 x 11) and then do it for each gender and race then add them all together. but remember to not include poses. >)

 

I didn't bother looking at the Whatchumacallit. I just, like I said, pulled that number out of my bottom. And I did say probably.

 

You guys need to remember to properly handle the no hair/shirt/pants options, since they don't change with the colors options (and in some cases, change with a different option).

Here's a numbers breakdown for the humans:

graphics:

• hair: 60 + 1 no-hair (male), 54 + 1 no-hair (female)
• shirt: 4 + 1 shirtless (male), 4 + 1 shirtless (female)
• pants: 4 + 1 no-pants (male), 4 + 1 no-pants (female)
• skin: 10
• poses: 36

colors:

• skin: 10
• undy: 10
• hair: 20
• shirt: 11
• pants: 11

human male:

• 60 (hairstyles) * 20 (hair colors) + 1 (bald) = 1201 unique heads
• 4 (shirts) * 11 (shirt colors) + 1 (shirtless) = 45 unique upper bodies
• 4 (pants) * 11 (pants colors) + 10 (undy colors) = 54 unique lower bodies
• 1201 (unique heads) * 45 (unique upper) * 54 (unique lower) * 10 (skin) = 29,184,300 unique males

human female:

• 54 (hairstyles) * 20 (hair colors) + 1 (bald) = 1081 unique heads
• 4 (shirts) * 11 (shirt colors) + 10 (bra colors) = 54 unique upper bodies
• 4 (pants) * 11 (pants colors) + 10 (panty colors) = 54 unique lower bodies
• there are 100 bra+panty combinations counted in here (10*10), but there should only be 10 since the upper and lower undies must be the same color. So we dock 90 from the bodies combo:
  • 54 upper * 54 lower - 90 invalid undies = 2826 unique bodies
• 1081 (unique heads) * 2826 (unique bodies) * 10 (skin) = 30,549,060 unique females

human total: 29,184,300 + 30,549,060 = 59,733,360 unique humans
if including poses (x 36): 2,150,400,960 unique human sprites

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. There are secret armors in the Character Creator found by naming your character "IFoundAGlitch" and "IronEagle". These armors can be colored, too! this adds a lot of new possibilities to the creator.
