How Many Characters Will You Have?

Are you the type to make one of every race because that's what you always do, or perhaps you are the type who only makes one character, a jack of all trades? Maybe you just make one character with a specific role or motif. Or maybe you are one who makes multiple character with their own personalities and archetypes?

Sure, the game as we know it doesn't have any skill levels with its equipment, so you can wear the heaviest armor and use sniper rifles, but for me, I like to stick with archetypes. I also like multiple characters with their own back stories and motives. I usually limit them to specific gear choices and decision making patterns.

For example, one of my many planned characters is Stephanjia Romanov. Sexy, longhaired redhead Russian extraordinaire, who runs around with handguns and light armor, spelunking about in search of treasure. The fate of her home world is of little concern to her. Using the space station she found after her escape, she plans to turn herself into a rich and powerful woman, who cares for little more than cold hard pixels.

On the flip side I will have my Avian (name undecided) who is extremely disturbed by the destruction of his home world, and will stop at nothing to exact revenge. Along the way he is quick to make friends and allies, and puts them before himself.

And for when I don't care about playing the way my characters would, I have Squid, who will he my good around/mining/farming character, who has a sort of "Minecraft" way of life.

What sorts of characters will you guys have? Or will you just have one who runs around and does whatever the hell you tell him/her to do?

 

I always dedicate myself to one character and experiment with everything I can with it. The good thing about Starbound is the fact we don't have to dedicate to a role upon creation, but rather through the acquisition of gear. Will be fun to see how everyone's play style will compare and contrast.
I will most likely play as good ol' human, but considering there are different races - I will try them out for sure !~

On another note, I'll probably have two characters of two different races. One long-range and one melee. That's as simple as that. ^^

 

One or two characters for singleplayer. One character for each server I play on, which will be 2-3.

 

1 or 2 it depends.

 

One for Single Player, and a varying amount depending on how my Multiplayer experience works.

 

As many as possible for me. :0

 

If you can have one character for both single and multiplay, I'll make just the one, Mr Jack of All.

 

Maybe 2 or 3 for Single Player and Multiplayer would depend on how many different servers I visit.

 

So simple, 2. Lennon and DeathMeow, God of Pie. If anyone sees DeathMeow somewhere, GEE I WONDER WHO IT COULD BE?

 

I like to stick to one or two people with a story, and a motivation. I might like to excrement with the different races. my main character will so far be human. he will be upset by the destruction of the planet. he hopes to find the people who did it, and find out why they did it. I will be a role of healer and stop at nothing to bring peace to the universe. he will also be an ecologist and environmentalist who catalogs every plant, and animal.

 

One, because I hate having to redo stuff.

Just one for me. Jack of all trades! Well, it really depends on what kind of gear I get. I'll obviously use the best of what I get!

 

I would have one for each race there is.

 

It would suck if you were limited to 5 characters like Terraria. If there wasn't, I would probably have a lot. I wonder if you can dress up like the devs...or are they not wearing items that will be in-game?

 

I really hope that you can have as many characters as your computer could hold.

 

A miner, A close-range fighter, a gunner, a lumberjack, an excavator...

 

Probably just 2. With the first one i will learn how to play and things, with the second one i will play the game.

 

One for each race, probably.
