How long till we get past Progenitor phase and into Optimization phase?

I'm with the original poster on this one. I'm super eager to get into this game but the desperately laggy gameplay makes it impossible. All of these new updates don't mean squat for a great many folks if the game refuses to run anywhere near playable on their computers. Pity really.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if phase 2 was a 2015 sorta thing.

 

Look at minecraft, as soon as one thing is optimized a new more laggy feature is added to eat up that saved fps. What reason is there to believe starbound won't do this?

 

That is true, Minecraft did go through with that, which was definite BS. Let's ALL hope that this turns out to not be like Minecraft but instead like Terraria. Aka, little to no lag past the progenitor phase and It's update

Starbound is 2D, so only the really awful computers will suffer (probably.)

 

Terraria can lag bad too, you just need enough spike ball traps and a pumpkin/frost moon event
