How does NPC naming work?

For the Gold tier and above, how exactly does the NPC naming work? Is it something we'll be able to easily select, or will it go into a randomized pool with thousands of other names, with a tiny chance of actually seeing that NPC?

If you ever played Terraria, basically when an NPC comes into the game, they are given a random name out of a name database. So basically, if you had a Guide named Bob, he died, a new one would come and could have the name George. If you want your NPC to have a specific name, you could always murder the NPC over and over until you get it.

(Not positive on this, but I'm assuming it's the same way.)

 

So far that pool is 350 names big though. Im excited to see what people some up with for names.

 

I was assuming it worked like Terraria.

 

Also the fact the normal names in the game are added to the pool too.

Variety is great in a village. You wouldn't want to see 6 Joes.

 

What did you guys name your NPC?

 

I just used my real name + Surname.
Thought it would be pretty cool to search for myself or something like that.
I was going to use my Username but decided to save that for myself.
