How do you manage your inventory / resources / chests?

I find myself overwhelmed with the sheer amount of unique & cool items that i find.
I've had to walk by, or simply destroy many many items i've found & collected, simply because i had no where to put it.
and not without a lack of trying.

My question is rather simple. How do you manage your loot?

To give you a visual idea of what i mean;

 

I don't. It's kind of a clusterfuck.

 

On my home planet i built a massive underground storage room ready for when i can sell all the crap gear i have. i only keep the stuff i need on my ship.

 

What kind of loot are you talking about? decorations?... things with a pixel value?... if that's the case... i just scan them into the 3d printer... I keep any of the following vanity clothes / food / seeds / instruments / maybe some blocks that's about it... weapons I only keep the ones i'm going to use...

 

i keep anything and everything i get in chests underground just in case i need them. and i do use the 3d printer to put rare items in but that's about it.

 

manage loot??? never heard of such a thing... haha, jk. For me, if i find a lot of decorations and furniture i just place them in my house or expand on the house in order to fit them all in. With random dirt and stuff, i build random things with them when im tired of exploring lol. and weapons i usually just delete the old ones and keep 2 or 3 current level ones to have a little variety when fighting. everything else, i store in chests, i have like 20 chests full of items so far

 

my ship was really bad for a while, it was just storage containers everywhere with random everything inside each one. Then after I got tired of seeing the cluttered mess, I looked at every item and placed it somewhere out of interest.
but recently i just Trashed everything I didn't really want anymore because of the impending wipe. Next play through will be much more tidy though.

 

that's pretty much how my ship is too... storage space > functionality > aesthetics was my ship design priority
