Honestly, I'm not hyped anymore. I just watch the game, see about updates and whatnot. Most of my hype transferred over to Terraria 1.2

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm hyped. But for me its like whenever there is news I'm all like "oh cool" i got the pixel tier when i was on a steam sale binge
and i was thinking yknow what ill preorder starbound so i dont have to worry about it when it comes out.
    so yeah.

I stay hyped by reading what's posted about the game in the games news feed... but never looking at an image or watching a video >:D teasers like that are great and all but they quickly overload!

My feelings exactly. I figure there's a lot of stuff I can do to keep myself occupied. Even when it comes out I won't be playing it exclusively. The PS4 and XBOne are coming out in less than a month so I've got a lot of things on my plate. Well, that and college and... stuff.

I brew liquid hype in my lab in bulk. Then I skim the particulate matter from the top which makes a paste that I make into a toothpaste and use twice daily.
The remaining liquid I use on my cereal in the mornings.

My hype is gone but I remain, optimistic, that things can and will change for the better.

Looking forward to the game =/= hyped. There's plenty of newer people, myself included, who are excited for it. Not too many people are actually really hyped for it, just excited and hopeful.

There's also difference of opinion. Just because you don't want to wait 2 years for it does not mean others are fully willing to do so and are excited for the game. I play lots of other games and am not constantly thinking about Starbound even though I only found it a few months ago. Constantly thinking about something is gonna make you much less interested in it.

I posted this on reddit like a million times already but I'm gonna post it again because I like talking. I got it in cycles too, except recently after playing Terraria 1.2 I am more hyped than the first time I ever read about it. Like
    :fireball: ULTRA MEGA HYPED:fireball:
While I played Terraria I always found myself thinking about Starbound and the staggering possibilities. Everything I did in Terraria reminded me about how much better it's going to be in Starbound. For example, in Terraria I get bored the second I get the gear I want and beat all the bosses. But with Starbound there is just going to be so much more to do. Considering the ease of building I can build the ultimate city-planet of my dreams, in Terraria this is way harder to do. Not only that but I can find and tame any randomized alien I can find, when I'm done with that I can hop from planet to planet murdering innocent settlements, if I get bored with that I can do random quests or story quests, if I'm bored with that I can farm for random loot in a dungeon somewhere etc. It reminded me about the ridiculous amount of content Starbound will have and how much more fun I will have crafting and finding all this neat stuff. It reminded me how much of a shell of a game Terraria is compared to the simple idea of Starbound. And then I remember that within the next couple of months I will finally be able to get my hands on it after so much waiting.

And I just ride the hype train every goddamn day

I don't. Simple as that. Stop getting hyped up for games if you want to enjoy them to their fullest.

Faking it, because somehow I hope that my positive attitude will in some way influence the fate of the Starbound Beta and Release dates.

It comes in waves. Sometimes I'm hyped, sometimes I'm not.

Of course, you only see me on here when I'm hyped. When I'm not hyped for the game, I tend to find I have better things to do than post on the Chucklefish Forums all day :p

So I can see why you might see it that way, but no, I'm not actually hyped all the time.

My GF is my anti-hype forum - I complain to her now and then instead of bringing it here. She doesn't care about Starbound either way so no harm done!

Just trying to ignore the game lol, I'm super hyped still, after these long, long.... Long....... Years....

Er, anyways I just try to get my mind off it by playing other games or go on YouTube and maybe make some videos (recording and editing will get your mind off everything else lol) and check back every day for updates, I already know the regular time that new updates come out, here they come at about 8AM, and when new info is there I read it, think about what is now possible with it, then try to forget about the game.

If you don't you get sad :( and pain... Dear god the pain...

    I don't think I ever was hyped.
I was just like "Oh cool. That game looks neat" and joined the forums.
Just you wait until the beta releases. There'll be more hype than you can shake a stick at.
