    What's wrong with daily?
If you look at the roadmap you'll see there's a LOT of stuff that's almost done. I'm sure some things can be talked about each day. There are also a lot of features already done, which can be talked about on slow days.

Well, it is literally a rundown on the things that got done that work day.

There will always be at least one new thing to report, if they want to keep it up (which we should be grateful if they do).

The reactions to the updates is kind of entertaining, but that just shows how excited people are for Starbound.

This is proof that people will find any excuse to complain.

Too sparse and sporadic updates. Complain!

    Daily updates. Complain!

    Srsly guise.

  5. There's nothing wrong with daily. At least, not yet.

Like I said from what he quoted, problems arise when their stock of available information starts to dwindle. While it's true that the same can be said for weekly updates, honestly weekly updates would last a lot longer with the same amount of available information. In addition, 7 days worth of info isn't really needed to satiate the community. Two to three days worth is fine as is, and that adds to a weekly updates' longevity.

However, despite this possible drawback, I'm pretty sure they are aware of this, and I trust their judgement. They probably have a lot to show us, enough to last for quite a while. That, or they're pretty much just posting what they've accomplished for the day, which is in fact undiminishing unless unproductive. In that case, bleh. Bring on the updates.

Then again, I'm curious and too lazy to look it up. Did they really promise us daily updates? Or did Tiy just coincidentally posted a ton of info for a couple of days in a row?

The game is supposed to be huge... So I'm sure there's still a lot to talk about.
If they can only fill a few weeks worth of daily updates, that means the game isn't as big as advertised... They also don't need to talk about the big features, details are fine too.
I'm following the daily dev blog of Limit Theory, Josh, the programmer, always finds stuff to talk about. What he tried, what succeeded, what not, what problems he encountered, special bugs squashed, ...
Between all the devs there's a week's worth of working done on the game each day. I'm pretty sure someone has does something that's worth talking about.

Be it what may, even if the updates slow down... I'm happy with any and all information they're giving.

What I would like to see personally is,

On the front page 'HOME' a summary of whenever a big update/feature/wallpaper is added.

A sub section called a 'dev diary' or 'dev blog' with more wips, frequent updates, screen shots of cool things, and concept art, funny bugs etc.

    What do you guys think?

There are separate crews for each game. Tiy and his crew have never even touched Risk of Rain, development-wise.

Yes, but if a particular area takes a long time, Tiy will be covering the same ground with his updates, and people will of course, get bored and complain. Just as they're complaining about there being "too much information" when before, people were complaining that there weren't enough updates.

I think the problem isn't just too much or too little information, it's inconsistency.

The trick is to establish consistent, but paced updates; definitely more than once a month for a game this anticipated. Probably twice a week (every 3-4 days) so that any one update can lead into an announcement, and it's easier to get the word out if you have a consistent time and place where you routinely talk about the game, and a consistent audience to match.

If people know something is coming consistently, it lets them keep their hype without burning out or getting mad.
Oh, and a consistent schedule also proves that game development is going ahead (as if we needed the proof with all the streams and chats, but some people..)

I would say they are updating daily because they are getting more done recently and the pre-orders are out with a promise of beta therefore they most likely have their own reason to release stuff every day to keep the fanatic people at bay. So its probably for their own sake to get less flak, though I'm sure theres plenty of people just crying out for beta release.(though i hope its in the next month :D)
