I have a fiberglass fishing pole and bait aplenty but can't seem to figure out how to attach the latter to the former. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
In the Windows release, you right-click the bait and then right click the rod to bait a stack onto it. The game will let you know when you've used up the stack.
Hmm! I did not know of that technical limitation. Does the Mac version of the game allow you to remap keys the same as the Windows version using the options menu? If so, are you able to re-map the 'right-click' to another keystroke that your system is able to perform?
You can set your preferences for what you want to serve as your 'right click' functionality on a Macbook Air. Here is where you can go for details.
cmautner, did you get this to work on yours? I've been trying to use bait for several days now on my Mac. Normally I have right-click mapped to space, but selecting the bait, hovering over the pole, and hitting space does nothing. I've tried with the Fiberglass Rod and the Iridium Rod, and I tried a bobber as well on the latter. Nothing. I'm in the inventory screen, I've tried with them in active slots and not, I've remapped the keys... Unless there's something truly fundamental I'm missing, this does not work on my setup. I finally caught that sturgeon anyway, though. >
I've now tested this by plugging in a two-button mouse, which does work. The way to bait your hooks on a Mac is by using a two-button mouse; a remapped key will not work right now. (I've submitted a bug report, so hopefully it will work soon.)
Solution: Get a PC kappa Seriously though: get a pc, secondly serious: holding control down will allow you to use the single mouse button as a right click, if I recall.
No seriously, another solution is to just get a USB mouse. I have both mac and pc (the pc is specifically for playing games) yet I prefer the mac for SV. I do use a random cheap mouse cause I can't deal with the trackpad while playing games.
That would be the smarter thing to do, I just assumed you didn't want to do that since you didn't already have an external mouse.
Control-click also doesn't work! You currently need an external mouse to bait hooks on the Mac. I did write to ConcernedApe, though, and this should be fixed in the next release.
