Closed How do I use the speed dash?

So I've gotten the blueprint, learned it, gone to the tech thing in my ship. In there I can see it but clicking does nothing. How do I use it?

 

you need to assign the tech to one of the slots under tech 1-4 on your inventory and have it selected, then double tap "a" or "d" to dash in desired direction. i hope thats right im not at my pc atm to double check ;p

Only place where I can find it is there, and I can't interact with it. Is it a bug or am I too stupid?

 

Click the energy dash icon, to make sure its highlighted. Then click 'Lock In' on the other side. The interface isn't drag-and-drop. To actually USE it in game, double hit a direction key, left or right. (A or D, in this case).
