How do I repair things?

Hi. I started the game and have completely forgotten how to repair my stone pickaxe. Any help?

 

I haven't tried it with a stone pickaxe, but it's usually repaired with the unrefined material that it's made out of (until you get to diamond). If it's the same as the ones that are made out of metal, grab some cobblestone and right click on the pickaxe. Then again that might not be possible with the stone one.

 

Step 1: Obtain copper ore
Step 2: In your inventory, pick it up
Step 3: Hover it over your damaged tool
Step 4: Right-Click (Mouse2)

And just for future reference,

Copper ore works with repairing any and all things which lose durability.
The durability system is not a get-used-up-then-break system. It's a your-tool-will-lose-efficiency-as-this-bar-gets-lower system.
Not all tools lose durability for some reason.
I can almost assure you that the repair system will change in the future, so don't be surprised if it does.

 

Copper works with anything? Crap... I've been wasting diamonds.

 

Any ore works, but not bars.

However, for a stone pickaxe, it might be better to just upgrade it to a copper pickaxe than to spend ore repairing it (you should find enough copper to upgrade it well before it breaks, and even if you don't, you'll have more than enough stone to make a new one).

 

it only takes me 4 copper ore to fully repair my drill. Sadly, I only figured this out last week. I cry at the money I spent at drills thinking they were such a rip-off.

 

You can repair drills and pickaxes with ores. Copper ore is plentiful enough, so just go with that. But other ores work too. Since this is a stone pickaxe, just upgrade to a copper pickaxe or make a new stone pickaxe.
