How did you come across Starbound?

Someone told me, his name started with a D....who was it...oh yeah! Deez nuts told me about it.

 

One of my friends spent a few hours giving me almost every piece of villager-to-player dialogue, and I fell in love with it. I couldn't decide if I wanted to play Hylotl or Floran. I shouldn't have worried. I have at least two of every species now.

 

I wanted to play a 2D Minecraft-like game after getting disappointed with Terraria for a handful of reasons. I found many positive reviews about SB and decided to give it a shot.

I played Terraria and was on the forums there when I heard there was a space version thing made by the Terraria peoples. Starbound came out, thought Starbound was said space version. Found out it wasn't, didn't care, kept playing.

 

I watched a single video by paulsoaresjr (known as indie test drive on steam). Immediately loaded up steam and bought it.

 

I searched for 'sandbox' on steam.
Found Starbound.
Bought it, liked it.
I'm a sucker for sandbox games. Far more re-playability for my money.

 

(Just to preempt this, yes this is actually how it happened)
I learned about it since my friends friends brother knew someone who was assisting in the development of the game (or so the say). Either way, I was directed to the website and then started my "check this site daily" obsession with Starbound. That was years ago at this point.
