How deep have you spiraled into obsession with Starbound?

For the past few days, I've been religiously following the progress of Starbound, putting many hours into the game, looking all over the forum, and have already put 20 messages down. I'm starting to believe I'm slowly spiraling into an insanity that is a Starbound obsession (but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it).

My question is:
How far down the rabbit hole have you fallen?

Also, I used my best judgement to determine that this thread goes into the General Discussion forum. Move me if I'm wrong.

 

I've done the opposite of following down the spiral.

 

I am more obsessed with the forums trying to wait till the game is more complete to play it.

 

I was a zealot who can't be reasoned with when it comes to supporting Starbound, but that time has long passed.

 

This. Kind of. I usually have the game open while moderating. But ever since I became a moderator, my number one concern has become the community and the forums as opposed to the game. Which is actually really enjoyable since I love the game and I like that other people are passionate about it. Even is some of them have jumped ship.

 

20 posts? Oh, you're still in the beginning stages.

I've put down 100 posts since Monday. Most of them in two threads. I have come to dread the Alerts icon. It keeps pulling me back!

the forums are so good to be at, the game itself...
i got bored of it rather quickly so just waiting till it's in the next phase or for the next big patch

 

No spiral, i just roam the forums and laugh of the stupidity of certain users, as i imagine their neckbeards faintly glowing in the dark of their basements, while their furry gross stuff is playing.

tl;dr: no spiral, not actually waiting for update, go with the flow.

 

Juice Box would consider himself quite deep, he's already seen the funny bunny with the big watch.

 

Not that far. I played it for about 50 hours before I ran out of things to do. Now I'm just waiting for the complete game. But I am very positive that it'll be a great game when it's finished. However long that might take.

 

I went as far as to take a break from simulating hats for a few weeks. Of course now the opposite is true. I've been waiting for the new stuff.

 

I am mainly awaiting an update to at least unstable. So I just do a morning checkup mostly, daily.

I have other games to play in the meantime that I also love just as much, as well some that are part of my collection.

Can't really say I am part of that spiral, but am touched by it, as I love the game and what is going on.

 

Shortly before the beta started i was pretty much hyped mindless. This effect has way chilled since then, because i could play the beta.
Right now i am just following the news on a nearly daily basis, and frequent the forums in bursts of a few days, then taking a break again.
("chilled" doesnt mean i dislike the game now, or something, but since i hate being unreasonable or fanatic about something, i had to cool down a bit anyways ;D)

As Tamorr pointed out, there are other games to play (currently "Dont Starve").

 

I check this forum every day, that's obsessive enough.

 

Like a wave function, it comes and goes...

 

400 hours of starbound, 33.000 presurized steel in starbound, and checking 10 times a day the forums

 

I only just bought the game last night, but I did play for a week on a friends laptop which is what prompted me to buy the game.

On that note I was up until 3 30 am playing, so I am well on my way.

 

I've put in my share of hours when the beta just came out, had a lot of fun together with my gf and some friends, playing multiplayer.
Then we all kind of took a step back and waited for some significant updates, with enough new things to take it back up again. Almost like a new game with all the changes planned for the future, looking forward to it.

 

There is no escaping the rabbit hole, once you're in, you're in for life! Scramble all you want, you'll just slip back down that slimy hole.
