How can Starbound reclaim the #1 E3 spot?

Aye. you'e right, but until/unless the rules are changed, then they're within their right to do this. All we can do is live with it for this years contest, and then ask them to change the rules for future nominations, you would seem like the perfect person to start a petition. Pay close attention to the wording, and I'd sign it.

 

Yes but this has nothing to do with Starbound or claiming number one in the contest. Sorry I guess I'm just missing the point of the Thread if Saibot doesn't have an issue with it in the end, and there isn't already a rule in place against manipulation of votes via social media personalities as he's doing than what else is to be said? Plus there was already a huge thread about this you could have just posted this information there instead of starting an entirely new conversation for it.

I suppose you should scan over the rules and see if he is has incriminated himself. Beyond that though I don't really see an issue with it.

The 3rd place game is just... I don't have any words for that. And why do people want another horror game? There's so many out there that it's just crazy, They just want a one hit wonder like slenderman.

 

at 1st i was like its not even a real game saibotstudios.com leads to a homepage with there name and some widgets on it but after checking the link given b the nominator they do have a game its not near as great as ours but theyve got something

Or by mistake like me I wouldn't want to travel to E3. But reading through this thread it does leave a bit of a bitter taste to the mouth that some youtuber has managed to garner a field of votes for a game he seemingly isn't passionate for just to get to E3.

Not that I am not happy for the devs themselves, it's just the motivation behind that is off putting. I hope in future such clear wrangling from votes can be prevented because I feel it takes away from keeping the 'competition' about the game(s) and the love of the game and possibly getting further publicity of the game. Though I think Starbound will sell really well come release and it being on Steam

Considering they've raised over a million dollars, and are guaranteed a spot on steam, i feel the spot should go to another company. Quoted right from the main page:

i think the reason they want saibots game is the fact that it uses voice actors from amnesia

by technicality chucklefish is indie how ever if you wan to talk tiny teams
then mollys nomination for gnomoria also rho worked on it i brought it because it looked intresting didnt think it would be as good as it is though its soo good if anyone likes town mangement gnomoria is great

While it would be nice, I don't think it's critical that Starbound goes to E3....*listens to the collective gasps and shocks*
Considering that Starbound has been making a lot of buzz and topping most-anticipated charts for a while now. We have momentum. Pre-orders clipped a million in 2.5 weeks.
For an indie game without any advertising outside of word-of-mouth, that's good; really damn good.

Hell, Tiy didn't know they were nominated initially, let alone winning.
So don't get your collective panties in a bunch if Chucklefish/Starbound does not win. It'll be OK.

Given that it's a popularity contest and the only discriminator are votes (email accounts), I can imagine it would be surprisingly easy to rig.

Nah there are enough horror games out there even free ones. I don't think slender man was that "scary"(but it was free so i dont complain).
But still everyone is free to nominate games even if the game isn't that good.

This just sounds like a Youtube comment. I've been waiting for this game for over a year, there's absolutly no reason to be complaining about 5 days.

There's nothing wrong with getting the word out, who cares if they're watching for fraud, it's not fraud so why worry?
