    Three things:
    1. I hardly know that maggot, how the duck did he get 4k votes?
    2. Duck you if you want to go with another survival adventurer

Hah, I like how everybody ignored me when I proposed that we get organized and do things properly. Now they've just voted one hundred different nominations. Still, I think we should have enough "fire power" left to get on top.

They won't pull ahead unless they announce a new stretch goal, sadly.

I emailed the people behind this.

I'll post the response, if they give one.

edit: http://www.facebook.com/AlfreditoLCDA holy crap this guy really is a foreign PewDiePie, look at all those thumbnails, facecams and HappyWheels videos

I doubt they'll do anything, because if they do, then they have to invent a measuring system of what is/isn't worthy of being entered. It'd cause too much confusion and the guy hasn't broken any rules, even if it is a jerk move.

What they could do is remove the prize that lets the nominator go to E3. That was a terrible idea from the start. This contest should solely be about indie games. By putting in a prize, they've created a reason to be selfish and screw with the system to get tickets.

Yes, that was a ridiculous idea, and was half the reason why 60 different listings for Starbound were made I suspect.

Hey, hey guys! The votes for us are way faster than the rate of the votes for Saibot. If it keeps up like that, we will be #1 in no time.

Saibot got 4,000 votes over 6 hours. Starbound got 3,900 votes over a period of days. All this guy has to do is make another facebook post and he'll get several thousand more.

Once again, the guy isn't cheating, what he is doing sucks, but I agree with the team that if they were to intervene at this point. The whole competition would collapse, people would try and get things ahead of them removed for any reason they can.

I'd imagine if Chucklefish wanted to come in the 'number one' spot they would have reached out to people for help, Tiy has talked to Totalbiscuit I'm sure if he wanted him to assist he would have asked. Either way it's not that big of a deal.

Don't like how he nominated a game but just makes adverdisment arount that he wins E3 tickets. It looks like the game is no matter for him the only thing he wants is the E3 ticket. (But that is jusrt the impression i got though this post)
But at the end it is not that important everyone is free to nominate (if he/she is over 18 years old)

Yeah, as again, overreaction. Still, that is idiotic.

But that's not the issue. Tiy as a developer asking TotalBiscuit to vote up the game would be in the interest of ensuring Starbound goes to E3. TotalBiscuit would be telling his community to vote for Starbound in the interest of ensuring Starbound goes to E3. Neither TotalBiscuit or his community would benefit from this. (Misread, disregard this)

The person who nominated Saibot has no affiliation with them and has stated that he wants his fanbase to vote for his nomination purely so that he goes to E3. He is using the contest to get tickets for himself using the popularity of his Facebook page.

Saibot deserves to go to E3 as much as any other indie game. This guy who nominated it doesn't.

The name of the Thread is 'How can Starbound re-claim the #1 E3 spot?' if you didn't want answers to THAT but instead to someone going to E3 for inflating a nomination then you should have thought about the Thread name a little more.

On the point of the person going to E3, who cares?
And if Saibot did care, wouldn't they handle it with the E3 contest holders?

I think I misread your first post. I thought you were jumping into the conversation where we were now and essentially saying "Just do what this guy (the system-abusing ass) did." Going back and re-reading, I realize you were answering the thread title instead. Sorry about that.

As for the guy going to E3, I care because he's openly and proudly manipulating a contest designed to promote indie games for the sake of getting himself to E3. If he's allowed to do that, any youtuber with 10,000+ subscribers is going to be able to bag tickets by nominating something and telling their community to go at it so they can fly to E3. It ceases to be a contest for indie games and becomes a show of which youtubers can grab tickets.
