How can Starbound reclaim the #1 E3 spot?

Currently it seems pretty impossible for Starbound to reclaim it's spot, considering that the #1 spot at the moment is held by a game that a youtuber with several hundred thousand followers is backing. His facebook post promoting it alone has 300,000 likes.

So what ideas does the community have to reach it? My immediate ideas are:

1. If a youtube celebrity tweets the link, it would help the game dramatically.

2. If the dev team promises to release 25 monster images if the game hits the #1 spot, or 5 if it hits #2-10. That way people actually have a reason to vote up Starbound. This doesn't seem to violate the contest rules from what I've seen.

Anyone have any better ideas?

Keep in mind that the #1 game is being supported only so the nominator receives E3 tickets from his community. It's being voted not out of love for the game, but love for the person nominating it. There's no link to the game, no screenshots, just begging his fanbase to vote for the game he nominated so he gets a free pass to E3.

Really, another generic survival horror is pulling ahead?

This is against the rules, it is something they can detect, it is something they're checking for and it's a dick thing to do no matter what. Do NOT do this. You will be hurting Starbound.

Well, I heard that Starbound's dev team doesn't want to go that badly. Yes, although it would attract well deserved publicity, it would also hurt development by taking away 5+ days that could be spent working on the game. Like you said, they're watching for fraud, so if this YouTube-man wins by a massive margin, it'll definitely be suspicious. Just let the contest take its course.

It's not really fraud, though. They said the youtuber is perfectly within the rules, he's just using a position of influence to send thousands / tens of thousands of people to the page.

I mainly want Starbound to hit #1 for the purpose of bragging rights, the game certainly deserves it.

 

Well the top 10 go to E3, right? I think we'll be fine.

With a huge network like that, even if only 1/100 people vote, and get a friend or two of theirs to vote... Well, not looking bright.

 

What I'm bothered about, is the guy doesnt seem that interested in the game just the passes.

Mind you this is translation and I'm taking it at face value but it sounds really selfish.

"help me win it" ya... you really need to go to E3 (a tradeshow, not a convention) with that kind of attitude about game development. You should want the game to win, to attract peoples attention if you care about it succeeding. You should talk about helping -them- win.. which it seems like he looked for something just to be nominated from the sound of his post and thanks THEM for a chance to send HIM.

This is the guy who right now is going to be wandering E3 recording it all.. essentially for youtube bragging rights. With barely a half mention of the game. Pft.. horrible loophole for someone like that to go. I would rather anything else won now just so someone whos remotely interested about the game they nominated gets to attend.
