How are the devs paid right now?

I will look forward to the game when we get a release date. Hopefully not too much longer to wait.

 

Tiy pays them from Terrais benefits probably,not much i guess, but enough.
I hope that the real money will come when the game comes out because they're doing a great job and hey deserve it!

 

They are paid in hopes and dreams.

It deffinantly seems like things have really changed for all the people involved. This is a big a success for them as Minecraft was to notch. Although i think sales have actually gone quicker on star bound seeing they have no 'actual' product.

 

Well, with a million dollars, they should have a reasonable salary by now.

 

A demo is not a waste of time. It's a demonstration of software. I never buy or even rent games without first having played a demo. This is why I never buy MMOs that don't have trials. If SB only had a demo and not a beta, it'd have the same positive effect for the overall game that demos do for other games.

 

Well in all honesty that is your personal opinion. Thats fair enough but i used to only play demos and you dont get an actual feel for the game because most of the time they are holding allot back and you sometimes dont know if its a really bad game or just a short demo. Hence why i said they are a waste of time, id rather wait till the actual games. So thanks for the input but like i said "I think" not everyone should think.

You would be surprised at how quickly a million dollars can go with game development. Lots of Ramen and Mac'n'Cheese handy I suppose.

 

Loads of money? 1 million split between 11-15 people. Then you get the average pay for 2 years.

 

Gum drops and candy canes, the work stations are sitting inside a small wooden box, their sleeping spots are filled with hamster bedding... Tiy shows up weekly to change the cage.

 

To the people saying Tiy is paying from Terraria,
I'm fairly certain that a lot of that money is still tied up with ReLogic and their current devs
