How about that character creation?

Well old chap, I'm afraid random griefing, flaming and trolling is to be expected in any online game. Restricting character names won't do much to curb the chaos.
A kick/ban feature, either via mass voting or server moderators usually works to expel the offensive ones.

 

I think that should be handled by server admins, and not be a part of character creation.

And i agree as my guy for everything is always made. If i cannot make him imma be pissed.

 

Ive looked back on a couple things like the lighting demonstration, and the head was the mechanics head i think.
So from what it looks there going to be the base character HEADS (space cowboy, doctor, etc.) But the rest of the body is fully customizable.

As awesome as the customization is probably going to be, try not to get your hopes too out there, because then you just get disappointed and might like the game less for not meeting your expectations.

 

maybe for more of a storyline, you are created in the scientific lab onboard the S.S Starbound (where you can customize your character) and you go to a sort of storyline tutorial planet that eventually establishes you as head of the S.S Starbound. How else do you end up on a space ship randomly... alien abduction? . _ .

 

Hm, how about that idea of, when you die, you respawn as a clone of yourself?

What if, during an alien attack, your DNA was sent in a spaceship to a safe planet, and your clone is only generated when the ship arrives?
Then you could customize you character inside a tube!

 

That's how you end up there . Anyway, character creation might be like Terraria style, but you could change the style of your clothing, not just your hair style/color and clothing color.

 

The 2nd one was more of the start than my post, but yea i believe clothing style might be featured (seeing how all the shown humans have different clothing) but i wonder.. how will character creation work with other races? i mean eventually itll go but i just wonder what they plan to do

i asked a dev ( cant remember which one ) that on a scale of 1-10, what would the character customization be? he/she said 8:whistle:

I want to be a pirate and I will parlay with everybody.
And I will shoot them with an automatic flintlock pistol.

I'd dig some space-pirating as well. I wish they made automatic flintlock pistols though if only. Maybe in starbound would it be possible.
