How about atmospheres on planets? Are they planned?

I was just wondering weather this feature was confirmed or not. Because it would be cool if on some planets (if they were inhospitable to humans but not other species), you were unable to switch between spacesuits and helmets, because you would suffocate. I am also curious as to how this works to animals as well. If you befriend an animal (Not sure if you can), can you bring it with you to a different world? And if so, what is it's limitations? Does it need to wear a suit with you or IT will die? Or doesn't this game have this mechanic?

UPDATE: Maybe all this should only apply with harder planets.

Well, they have told us that coords will not always be a planet, so that leaves a door open for asteroids, and possibly AI ships. Asteroids would either be mined from a ship, or by the player, if asteroids/debris were implemented, and the player was supposed to mine them, then most likely, yes there will be some sort of personal atmosphere system.
The question about animals is an interesting one, as it poses the same limitations as it would for the player character if he didn't have space gear. And unless space gear was commonplace, it would -probably- be found on a higher tier planet than 10. The most you can do is read the list of announced game information and speculate.
So I can't give a definite yes or no on exotic atmospheres, but if there were any, you might have the ability to change the atmosphere via terraforming buildings, maybe like Spore, but less hilariously inaccurate?

Update reply to UPDATE: That depends on how common and often you can get oxygen tanks/gas tanks of what you breathe. But that would also mean there might be temperature changes (see - ice world image) where you might need space suits or warmer/looser clothes to control temperature and personal atmosphere.

We only have so much info at this time @Skyarex, the stuff that Sarbinger pointed out should help clarify. :) Welcome to the Forums
