Hovering Skateboard

Wouldn't it be cool to have a hovering "back to the future" style skateboard in the game?

It would allow faster passage over rough terrain. People could race on it, and if you collide into something you'd take some damage and fall off. perhaps you can jump and let obstacles pass between you and your board, and have some slight control over it's hovering height.
