Now i really want the game....someone put me in a cage before i run out of control and atempt to hunt the developers down.

 

Waah, I missed the hour long video, all I get from the link now is a "This page is private" message

It was pretty much the same as the Building demo they put out. They showed off a bit of digging and a unfinished test building / dungeon, but they turned off mob spawning, village gen, npc's, etc. And it ended in a fight to death between the devs, but the combat system is still work in progress, so it looked kind of weird.

Making the video private so people that don't constantly check in misses it?

im not entirely sure why it made was private, however i believe it was because the footage shown had a few unfinished things to iron out(spawning down onto a planet needed a little fix, the water needed some bug fixes as well as the combat)
so as to not attract to much attention and have uninformed people make judgement on the game that isn't quite finished(ex- "omg the water looks like shit wtf" / or "wow the combat is practically garbage" etc.)

not to mention the starmap isn't put in just yet-they have a temp. way of reaching a planet and going back to the ship etc.

now that's not to say that what was shown wasn't amazing, because it was-but tiy is a perfectionist, after reading some of the comments about the video perhaps he wanted to keep it hidden until things are fixed? im not entirely sure, just trying to give a possible answer

...sound doesn't seem to work, but maybe that's my VLC's fault.

It is VLC's fault, try right-clicking the link and clicking on "Save link as..." and running it with Media Player Classic.

 

I've tried three players so far, including Media Player Classic.
Still doesn't work. Good to know that it isn't the video's fault. I'll find a way to fix it eventually.

Edit: I was simply missing codecs. Figures.
I installed the Shark007 Codec pack and now it works fine even on the Windows Media Player that comes with Win7.

 

I can't decide whether I am glad to have missed it or not.
