Hour and a half of Starbound gameplay!

    I'm glad we got to see some footage & I'm definately psyched for release. I have to say some of those combat animations were lackluster not to mention only being able to attack sideways with the spear. I've never been a big fan of my toon going transparent when he/she takes damage either. The planets look way too plain. Backround image could use a boost in quality.

    After seeing this its apparent SB definately needs lots of touching up. I hope they take all the time they need to finish.

    I was hoping spears would be like they are in Terraria, I hope that is either a low level spear or that they are still working on spears.

    Hmm, I think from the sheer volume of it (sounds reallt tinny), it's music he was playing on his pc and it came through on the recording.

    Just a few bugs and it can be released - Oh yea, they need to finish the starmap too.

    They have to have a hotbar. There are 10 inventory spaces in the upper screen. Should be simple enough to press 1-0.

    Great, finally we've seen some action! Building looks amazing.
    I hope we'll see the Space Station soon, I'm curious about those labs and other decks we've been promised :3

    I'm personally a fan of the building system, amazing.

    However, I don't like that players blink to transparent when they are damaged.

    1. From what I saw, I wan't a big fan of the combat system, I feel it could be a lot quicker and meatier.
      I also hope that the melee weapons arn't all so enormous.

    2. When it comes to creatures, I would like it if more then just their appearence was randomized. This may just be the few creatures we did see, or it may just be that they were all level 1 planet creatures, but I would really like to see different A.I.'s, sizes, rarity levels and powers. Also, I hope that certain species will be assigned to a planet, and that we will se several of a certain monster on a planet, other than encountering a new monster every time.

    3. Robots shouldn't have blood. They should have smoke & electricty.

    4. The combat animations feel a bit... lame. I hope they can improve this.
    Other than these 4 things, I liked what I saw and what was adressed.

    im sad, knowing that what item we can craft at first depend on our starting race, it means i wont be able to use much apex stuff to make my compound since i love the apex architecture and item style, but i hate the ape concept as a whole :(

    the building thing looks like it could summon a keyblade... and look at that sword the avian has @.@, also nice house and a water cannon :3

    Am I the only one that thinks the weapon animations are a bit... strange? Just near the end when they are fighting each other it just didnt look nice seeing them chase each other with that strange slash. And I also think the colour of the slash's blur should be the blend of all the swords colours to make it look nicer.

    Just to address your concerns on the combat system, the melee combat is extremely WIP. The work we've done is in the stats but not in the actual combat yet. Soon weapons will have different weight, animations, mods (things like the sword sending off an arc of flame), etc.

    The monsters will have various attacks + patterns, and they'll mix and match them to create unique behaviours per monster.

    The melee combat is going to get a lot closer to the castlevania sotn style of gameplay.

    well you could make an apex character, build stuff, then switch to another character you plan to actually use and live in the apex built complex? if that is possible to use one toon - then switch to another and be on the planet the previous toon built things on
