Since there was cold weather. You could imagine my surprise when at high noon on a desert planet, nothing bad was happening. Arid and desert planets even moons should worry about extreme heat where you should seek out shade during the day. It can act like a rain layer. Heat waves radiate upward at surface blocks. But its cool under surfaces. Lower risk planets should just worry about one or the other. Higher risk planets could deal with both hot and cold. May not even have to use the temperature gauge. Not sure about future weather alerts. Like storms. So heat could just be regulated like a temporary storm.
I love this idea and took it a step further by suggesting an overhaul to the temperature system here, posted in the mechanics section, so that only one temperature gauge would need to be used: http://community.playstarbound.com/...nt-temperature-based-temperature-gauge.39589/
Right, this is a good idea. Just make the thermometer have an 'H' at one end, a 'C' at the other and put a sliding bar right in the middle of it.
It'd be nice to see this implemented. Also, would make it very interesting. Maybe there could be overheating due to clothing too. IE: Wearing really warm clothes in a desert would cause you to overheat faster.
Sounds like the best party. Also, I meant clothes that have high heat-retaining stats. If there were a matching 'cool-suit' for hot placesI'd be impressed.
This is a great idea! To have to find a way to cool down when on a really hot planet at day would be interesting.
Probably it could just require one to go underground during the day. There are usually plenty of cave systems on planets so it shouldn't be impossible to avoid the heat. One shouldn't need to go that far to cool down. It'd also introduce a new reason to build shelter -- perhaps even just having a roof over your hand and walls around you would do it.
