I would like to be able to use all my techs without switching, I think the energy they use is enough to prevent you from becoming too powerful. If not, then a hotkey would be nice.
I agree with Vlad. A hotkey would be nice, and it would also make movements much more fluid. Being forced to use menus has a tendency to break immersion. On the other hand, I don't think that all techs should be available for use at once. There are certain techs that rely on the same keys for their activation, and doing having them all active at once would require they redesign the techs to be either much more limited, or utterly strange to use.

I think that they could limit it to one tech per hotkey. One tech period is pretty restrictive. Or at least, it is when they also take energy. You have only one energy pool, and it's honestly not that big...at least until you get to the much later armours, and even then it's not particularly generous. Techs use energy. So do guns. Right there, if you use a gun and are relying on a tech for mobility, you're going to chew through your energy pool pretty quickly. The system ought to be self balancing, if the costs are right.
I'm only suggesting that they'd be nerfed in that they would have to abide by a system that's able to have many techs working at once. In other words, they would have to make them movement passives, or rely on a specific set of keys to be pressed for them to be used. The beauty of having one active at a time is that they're much simpler to use that way. Though I admit that some techs could be use synonymously with other ones perfectly. Why is this forum so keen on telling me that I'm making up words? Synonymously is a word!
