Horse with Boobs for Glitch (Poll: Yes or No?)

I don't see any harm with the AI. I mean, if everyone likes the space penguin bandit brigade, then why not a horse lady? Why is it only okay if we take away breasts? Is the general consensus saying that being identified as female means you have to be super attractive? I think it's clever and creative if it is indeed intended for the Glitch. The ships are like floating castles anyway. I hope that this will make it through for actual game play. I may make a Glitch just to talk to the pony lady. Or maybe they could just let us pick the AI we want after crafting some new device. That would be pretty awesome.

Anyway, it's just the first pictures. They might have way more types of AI for each race. And besides, can't we have a little bit of humor?

I dislike that AI choice because, well, it doesn't fit in with the game, nor the other AI's.
I don't find it humorous, I just find it trying too hard to be funny, like the Po's.
I mean, after all, there is an Ape, a Human, an old Hylotl, a devious Green Human (floran), and a crystal for Avian.
Do you really think that a horse fits into this? At least make it something like a ghostly floating Crown or something, as serious as the others.

I think that the Devs are making it an inside joke, or trying to appeal the Internet's newfound Rubber-horse-head fetish (from dance videos, to creepy-ass videos).
Truly, I think we can all do without the only non-serious-looking AI for a race that many people like.

Then let it be the floran AI. They are mad and their "devices" made from scrap, so it can "GLITCH A BIT" And Glitch's AI can be more related to castle or ship. Like, maybe, pretty robo-princess

But isn't that the problem? If everyone - or even a significant majority - liked the Horse with Boobs, that'd be one thing. But not everyone likes the Horse with Boobs. Not even close. (So far, the nays are slightly ahead of the yays.)

The fact that it has breasts is not the root issue for most of us. Rather, a number of us think it looks freaky, ugly, and it does not fit with the Glitch theme.

As for my "compromise", the "Horse Without Breasts": It's GeorgeV's avatar modified so it no longer resembles a bipedal horse-human hybrid or mutant. Instead, it's supposed to look more like a regular horse; albiet, a talking one.

I hadn't even considered this. And I don't believe that is the message being said here.

The issue is not that this Glitch AI is "female" (if you can even give gender to a purely virtual AI). Personally, I'd take just as much issue if it was male - provided it was just as horrifyingly freaky and if it was still as poor a fit with Glitch lore, as unrealistic, and as out-of-place with the other AI avatars as this one.

And there's a huge difference between only accepting female game characters that represent an unrealistic portrayal of physical perfection and discriminating against a freak of nature, Quasimodo-style, as something you'd rather not have to look at frequently.

Creative? Absolutely! A clever joke? Perhaps. But that, alone, does not make it a good game design choice.

What I don't get is how you can say this is a good choice for the Glitch if you're not even sure it's supposed to be for the Glitch.

This might be WIP for a beta, but it could very easily (very likely) end up in the finished game. And now is the time to voice our disapproval as later may be too late.

Why not? Perhaps because a lot of people find it ugly and/or inappropriate for the Glitch? Or that so, so many don't want it - for whatever reason - and would rather not be forced to mod their game.

No , First of all what does it have to do with the glitch i guess it could still be in the game but not for the glitches main A.I .

Yea, that is the only thing that would make sense.
The blue human is for Humans.
The Ape is for Apex.
The Crystal is for Avian (architecture, lanterns, etc).
Devious green human is Floran.
Old Hylotl is Hylotl.
That means that the Horse has to be Glitch.

 

I'm quite aware that GeorgeV has indicated that Horse Woman was intended for the Glitch.

In case it wasn't clear: I said that as part of my response to a post by Misaio, who supported the use of Horse Woman for the Glitch and then stated "...if it is indeed intended for the Glitch." I thought that was ironic.

Case Closed? How is it that you get to tell everyone that your input is the end of this discussion?

Humor is a lot like music appreciation: Those who disagree with you are not necessarily lacking in that department. Rather, it's a matter of taste. Not everyone can appreciate Disco, Country, Rap, Jazz, Classical, Rock, or Heavy Metal for what it is. Or, perhaps more appropriately, it's like art appreciation. Not everyone can appreciate Cubism or Abstract expressionism.

Why should so many of us be forced to accept something we find so distasteful, especially if we make up a majority?

If anything, I'd say those of you who INSIST that the devs keep this disturbing Picasso-style horse mutant should be forced to make yourselves a Horse With Boobs mod, with the devs using something far less controversial for the rest of us. Either that, or it should be optional.

 

Slate me down as one more for "Horse AI is a creepy, horrible joke/meme, and looks like it's trying to be titillating and failing horribly." Seriously, memes should be mods or, at most, small out-of-the-way parts of the game or not noticeable unless you're looking closely. A major part of the game like this should not be a meme.
