Planetside 2 if your compy can run it. Not exactly battlefield, but similar enough. Not a whole lot of good F2P shooters, much less any like Battlefield.

 

Or Just Cause 2 if you'll allow yourself to have fun.

It has Multiplayer now and you can be spiderman.

 

I was shooting for similar to Battlefield.

Yea, I played it when I didn't know any better too. Went back to it maybe a year or two ago, recently enough to know that the pay model is garbage. 3 or 4 games of getting your face stomped till you can get a better gun, still not as good as the ones that are locked behind paywalls, unless they changed it. Not to mention it was almost a demake of Battlefield, and lacked a lot of the features of the true games.

Eh. Planetside 2 has fun gameplay, insane graphics, and travel time for ALL bullets
But it takes about 38 years of farming to unlock anything without paying
It would be one of the better F2Ps out there if they balanced weapon costs, though.

It was a lighthearted jab, you know sort of like the ones you give me about using RPG Maker, if you can't take a bit of a retort, then it's probably best I remain blocked.

 

Never played that game. Also not sure if you are referring to PS2 or not from that statement.

Let me get a little ranty, and totes off topic from your post.

I like Planetside 2 a lot, I just can't be arsed to deal with F2P right now. I hate the feeling of being Nickle and dimed, even though I can control it. I'd rather buy the game, pay a sub, and get everything (except for expacs of course) than have to deal with a fiddly F2P set up. Not only that, but I hate it when I know that the devs purposely made bad design decisions to adhere to a F2P model. Long progression models, dumbing down mechanics, and in PS2s case, coping the framework from a successful modern FPS, rather than expanding on how Planetside 1 was.

 

Okay so that void mission wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.
I figured it would be like regular extermination missions where there were only like 60 or so enemies. Nope, more like 150.
I was also constantly running out of ammo (I really need a better pistol), so that was fun.
Anyway, I finished it after a good 50 minutes of guerrilla tactics and running back to previous areas to scavenge for ammo.
Also, it should be noted that Nova's Wormhole ability is very useful when it comes to accessing the hidden rooms.

Edit: And now I want to do another one. I also started making an Oberon helmet thanks to the control modules I got.

Twattlefield Heroes, PS2 is fine, if you have the hours to devote to it.

I agree with most of this, I have played Planetside 2 myself, and can sympathize with most of what you're saying.

I laud Battlefield as a franchise too wealthy for how spectacularly mediocre or bad it is across the board, same for Call of Duty and Medal of Honor, they've all been bad outside of the earlier games, and even then they were mediocre.

A retort does indeed, have to be in response, but it does not mean that the object of it's propagation must be current. Perhaps it wasn't a retort, and just a lighthearted dig instead?

I subed for like 4 months, played off and on, and got all that I could ever want certs wise. Certed a Tank fully, all weps for Infil, specials for heavy, set of weps for my MAX suit. It also helps that I am part of a pretty good outfit. For an MMO, playing somewhat moderately, I say 4 months isn't to bad to reach my goals. There is always stuff to unlock though. Sub really helps.

 

I hear Oberon is a little underused, don't know why. He seems like a cool Frame.

 

Yea the weapon prices are kind of outrageous, and they don't even link up with their actual combat effectiveness. they use some weird, and invalid tiering system for the prices.

Same, that's why I want to check him out. Also because his blueprints drop from the Earth boss, so it's pretty easy access.

 

Hm, so they moved Trin. Kind of glad I picked he up before they did, the boss to get her was really easy. Back when Loki could radial disarm bosses, and they did not get Batons to hit you with, he just kind of sat there and moped about that his gun dematerialized while you shot him in the face.
