Like, I'm fine with a couple serious episodes, such as the episodes where Finn fought the Lich or those two episodes in that alternate reality with "Finn Murtons"(And even then they knew how to balance the serious with some funny such as Ice King capturing PB in the Lich episode and their banter in between the fights and the whole Jake and Prismo dynamic in the alternate reality episodes) as I believe they are needed to advance the overall plot and open up new story opportunities, but every single episode being almost completely serious takes what, in my opinion, made Adventure Time fun to watch.
