    Yeah. It's very much a similar deal as with Spelunky, skill and above all experience and focus are the things to carry you the furthest, but if luck isn't in your favor you're boned either way.

    Edit: and as I was going to say; Since I have bested both versions of Spelunky to a 100% I'm not about to give in to this one.
